Professional wrestling legend Jim Ross who is currently working as the live match commentator in the AEW recently praised his former fellow commentator Michael Cole. He called him one of the most underrated announces in the history of professional wrestling.
Michael Cole began his professional wrestling career back in 1997 under WWE. He started his WWE career as a backstage interviewer and captain doing his job for the next two years. In 1999 he was promoted as a match commentator and he started working on SmackDown.He worked on SmackDown for the next nine years and he became one of the lead commentators of WWE in the process. Day After day he kept on improving.

During the process, he had been involved with a several number of storylines on SmackDown. One of his story line was with the young prospect Heidenreich where he got physically harassed by Heidenreich. The storyline was not very well received and it has been forgotten by the fans totally.
In 2008 he returned to Monday Night RAW for the first time Since 1999 and he became the lead commentator of Monday Night RAW. During the time he got the biggest involvement of his career when he turned heel on 2010.
He was one of the most hated heels in that particular time period of WWE. He also started a feud with Jerry Lawler which went on till 2012. This heel run of Cole is considered as one of the worst heel runs in WWE history.

In September, 2012, Jerry Lawler got a legit heart attack during a show of Monday night RAW which Cole had to announce. While announcing this news, he was trying his best not to cry since his best friend was in a life threatening situation. This is considered as one of the most dramatic babyface turns in the history of professional wrestling. Cole return to Friday Night Smackdown in 2019 and is still active the blue brand.
Jim Ross who is currently working as the live match commentator in the AEW recently spoke on his Grilling JR podcast where he praised his former fellow commentator Michael Cole. He called him one of the most underrated announces in the history of professional wrestling. He said;

“I remember I had to get tetanus shots when I hit Cole on one of those shows along that period where I hit him in the mouth, his tooth ran into my knuckles, and it bled like a hog. Little did I know that it was really dangerous as far as infections are concerned when other human beings bite. Then I had to take antibiotics. The doctors had to look at it everytime you go out there and all this other sh*t.
“He’s no different than us folks. He’s a wrestling fan. He’s had a really good job in wrestling for years and years, and he’s earned every moment of it, every accolade, every promotion, every raise, and all of his exposure. He’s earned all of that. He’s Mr. Reliability. I think he’s one of the more underrated guys in broadcasting. He’s earned his keep, and he’s earned it in a very classy way.”
