Former WWE star at the current Ring Of Honor Women’s World Champion Deonna Purrazzo who is also a former two times Impact Knockouts World Champion recently talked about the current Impact Knockouts champion Mickie James participating into the WWE Royal Rumble match.
WWE will be organising the 35th annual Royal Rumble pay per view event later this month. This year they will also be defending the fifth women’s Royal Rumble match. From 2018 WWE is organising the women’s Royal Rumble match parallel to the men’s Royal Rumble match.

It has been a huge success and it is as fun as the men’s Royal Rumble match without any doubt. This year organising the women’s Royal Rumble match will not be very easy for WWE since they have already released a lot of stars including tons of female wrestlers as well. The roster has become quite thin and the situation of the women’s roster is even worse.
One of the biggest attractions of the Royal Rumble match is the surprise entrants. You can never know who is coming next. The superstars who return for one match only is also quite fun to look at.
The unpredictability is something that makes Royal Rumble special. The women’s roster always remains quite thinner comparing to the men’s roster, so the possibility of surprise entrants increase even more. Every year a lot of former WWE stars and legends appear in the women’s Royal Rumble match. This year will be no different.
This year WWE has already announced some of the returns which was supposed to be surprise. A number of former wrestlers and wrestling personnels have already expressed their frustration for WWE announcing most of the entrance of the Royal Rumble match.
Former WWE on screen personnel Renee Paquette aka Renee Young said that she hated this decision. The list of entries has also confirmed that the Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James will be participating into the Royal Rumble match as well.
This will be the first time Impact Wrestling got mentioned in WWE on screen and any wrestler from the Impact wrestling is working in WWE. This is definitely quite shocking and it is a good think that these two promotions are working together.
Deonna Purrazzo who is also a former two times Impact Knockouts World Champion recently spoke to Instinct Culture with host Denise Salcedo where she talked about the current Impact Knockouts champion Mickie James participating into the WWE Royal Rumble match. She said;
“I was equally surprised as I think the entire wrestling world was, I didn’t know that was gonna happen. I had just gotten to my hotel room and Steve put on SmackDown and there was that announcement. I was like ‘oh, interesting, okay.’ Because I think WWE has kind of a closed-door policy with playing with others, and to hear that was, I think, the first time in history that they really acknowledged other companies like that. Especially IMPACT.
“So, I feel we don’t get all the credit we deserve and people kinda let things that happened in the past reflect their opinions on what we are doing now. It was kinda like a really big thing for us. I was a bit concerned that– I had found out that we were gonna be the main event on Monday and now it’s Friday and this is being announced and we’re not announcing it, are people going to think we are getting to be the main event because of this?
“That was kind of my first initial thoughts was like, ‘I really hope that whoever is tuning in, not as an IMPACT fan, does some research and sees the story we’ve been telling and sees why we’re in a Texas Death Match and what we’ve evolved to, to get to this point that we’re warranted the main event, that we deserve the main event, not just because we’re women but because the story we’ve been telling warranted that spot. Overall I think that it put a ton more eyes on Hard To Kill, a ton more eyes on Mickie’s and I’s match and I mean that’s all you can ask for, right?”
