This week’s SmackDown started as the WWE SmackDown Women’s champion Charlotte Flair came out to the arena. She was talked about the women’s Royal Rumble match and how unpredictable it is, then she said that she is going to win the Rumble match and talked about her greatness.

She was then interrupted by Shayna Baszler. Shayna reminded her of the Royal Rumble match of 2020 and said that she would not repeat the same mistake again. This time she would be in the Rumble match and declare Charlotte Flair to be her WrestleMania opponent.

Aliyah came out next and made her claim to win the Rumble followed by Natalya and Shotzi came out and who made the same claim. After that Sasha Banks made her return to announce that she would be competing in the Rumble as well and of course she had the same claim. A fight broke in after that and Sasha was the only woman to stand still inside the ring at the end.

Match 1 – Sheamus and Ridge Holland defeated Cesaro and Ricochet

The match was good, it was booked for seven minutes and it was pretty entertaining. Ridge Holland pinned Cesaro clean for the win. it is pretty strange how Cesaro’s push ended, last year he defeated Seth Rollins at WrestleMania clean, he was main eventing shows with Roman Reigns, and now he is jobbing to jobbers.

An excellent Hype promo package was shown about Royal Rumble tomorrow and it was quite exciting. The promo video will definitely make fans excited for Royal Rumble tomorrow.

Match 2 – Naomi defeated Sonya Deville

Finally, this match took place and surprisingly it was a great match. It was booked for nearly ten minutes and it was quite entertaining. Naomi pinned Sonya clean at the end. But thankfully this is not the end of this feud. It should go on till WrestleMania for sure. At the end of the match, Sonya announce herself to be in the Rumble match.

Next up was the In Zayn podcast with Sami Zayn as Jindar Mahal and Shanky being the special guest. The discussion was once again about Johnny Knoxville. During this discussion, Jinder and Shanky said Johnny knoxville is hugely famous in India. Is that so?

Match 3 – Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs defeated Shanky and Jinder Mahal

The match was short and nothing very special. It was even shorter than three minutes. Nobody exactly dominated the match, at the end, Boogs pinned Shanky to earn the victory for his side.

Match 4 – Kofi Kingston and Big E defeated Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin

This was another short match which was booked for four minutes. The babyface side was the stronger from the very first minute of the match. Big E pinned Madcap Moss to earn the victory for his side.

The final segment of the night was a face to face segment between Seth Rollins and aop WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. There was nothing special about it, just a heated conversation between the duo. Both demanded to beat each other at Royal Rumble. At the end, Roman Reigns stood inside the ring and Seth Rollins left slowly as this week’s SmackDown went off air.

It was definitely a better go home show then Monday Night RAW. But once again a preview Battle Royal was missing which WWE should have organised. But the women’s segment at the beginning of the show could be counted as one preview. Naomi and Deville had a good and fair match, finally. Other matches were good too. We give it 2.5 out of 5.
