It is time for one of the most anticipated WWE events of the year, Royal Rumble. It was filled with great matches, even dream matches. The biggest attraction of this event has to be the Rumble matches themselves. We have a packed lineup for both Rumble matches. Let us go through all the matches that took place in this event.
Match 1 – WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship – Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns by disqualification, Roman retained

So the rumours of this match being the main event of the night was all wrong. As a match, it was not going bad but the end of the match completely killed the build up. Seth Rollins made a Shield entrance which was really cool to see.
From the very first minute, the match was extremely entertaining. Seth dominated the first half of the match. The match was going really well but at the end it was all destroyed. The match was going really well for 15 minutes, then Roman refused to release Seth from the Guillotine even after Seth reached the rope. Roman kept on the assault going even after the match.
Match 2 – Ronda rousey won the 30 women’s Royal Rumble match
It was a good match definitely. Royal Rumble matches never failed to impress. It was extremely entertaining. Some of the things must be mentioned about this match. There are some good looking decisions as well as some bad ones as well.
Firstly, the early elimination of Sasha Banks was quite shocking. She got eliminated quite early. The buildup of the story line between Naomi and Sonya Deville was excellent. Ivory returning in her Right To Censor persona was quite nostalgic to see.
But the elimination of Liv Morgan by the hands of Nikki Bella was quite dissatisfying. Why did she got eliminated by Nikki Bella when Nikki has nothing to do in WWE after this event? The push of Liv was terribly killed. N…
Match 3 – WWE RAW Women’s Championship – Becky Lynch defeated Doudrop
This match was booked for eleven minutes and we would not say this was an excellent match. It was good but could have been better, these two women are capable of delivering better matches. Doudrop dominated the most part of the match but Becky Lynch snatched a victory after she hit a Manhandle Slam from the Turnbuckle.
Match 4 – Bobby Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar to become new WWE Champion
It was a typical Brock Lesnar type match and it was quite entertaining. Lashley has been portrayed as a worthy competitor of Lesnar. We would not say it was the best possible booking of this match.
Roman Reigns got involved in this match at the end who beat down Brock Lesnar when the referee was out. Paul Heyman betrayed Brock Lesnar at the end of this match and he took the side of Roman Reigns. Lashley pinned Lesnar after the assault.
Match 5 – Beth Phoenix and Edge defeated Maryse ane Miz
One thing we seriously do not understand, why is Maryse scared of Beth Phoenix since they had a lot of history between each other? The fear was present earlier during the feud and it was present throughout this match.
About the match it was an excellent heel vs face match. We would not call it a classic match but it was quite entertaining. Beth is is excellent shape, she should work often. Edge pinned Miz for the win.
Match 6 – Brock Lesnar wins the 30 Man Royal Rumble match
Arguably, we just witnessed the worst ever Rumble match in the history of WWE. Now we understand why this company is going down the drain. The match was boring from the very first minute, the only exciting free was the ten count before every entry.
Let us talk about the highlights of the match. Shinsuke Nakamura getting eliminated too early was never acceptable. He just won the Rumble match four years ago and and now he is a jobber in the same match. AJ Styles dominating the first half of the match was quite entertaining to see but the same person getting eliminated by Madcap Moss was just unacceptable.
Kofi Kingston made a huge botch. We can definitely say he was not supposed to get eliminated the way he got. He was supposed to do the wonder to remain in the Rumble match once again. Bad Bunny remaining in the top 5 and Shane McMahon remaining in the top 3 is also unacceptable.
And now let us talk about the Rumble win of Brock Lesnar. He just entered the ring eliminated everyone quickly and won the match. How could they do it? It just made the whole match totally irrelevant. This has to be the worst ever booking for someone to win the Rumble.
The surprise entrants in the match were not good either. Bad Bunny and Shane McMahon? Is that all they could come up with? Overall it was a bad Rumble match, probably the worst ever.
We have got to say, this is arguably one of the worst ever Royal Rumble pay per view events in WWE history. The women’s Rumble match was at least fun because of the dominance of Ronda Rousey, but at the same time it is frustrating because of Rhea Ripley getting buried by Charlotte Flair once again.
The men’s Rumble match is arguably the worst ever Rumble match in the history of WWE. We give it 2 stars out of 5. And it is all because of Ronda Rousey’s return and Bobby Lashley winning the WWE Championship.
