Bangladesh are all set to tour South Africa in March for a series of two test matches and three ODIs as Cricket South Africa confirmed the schedule on Wednesday.

The tour will begin with the ODI series as two of the ODIs will be played at SuperSport Park, Centurion while the other ODI will be hosted by Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.

Durban and Gqeberha are the venues for the two test match series. The first test will be played from March 31 to April 4 at Durban while the final match of the tour will be played from April 8 to 12.

The ODI series will be a part of the World Cup Super League in which Bangladesh is currently sitting comfortably at the no.2 while the proteas are struggling at no.10 as the top 8 teams would automatically qualify for the World Cup 2023.

Also 2-Test match series will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship. South Africa made a terrific start of the WTC as they beat India by 2-1 in 3-match series last month and they are currently at no.4 in the table. On the side, Bangladesh are currently at no.7 however they can take some confidence from their first-ever test win in New Zealand which they achieved last month at Mount Maunganui.

This will be Bangladesh’s 4th tour to the rainbow nation as they are still searching for their first win against South Africa in their own backyard. The first time they toured South Africa, was way back in 2002 and they were whitewashed in a series of 3 ODIs and 2 Tests. Similarly, in the 2008 and 2017 tours, it was a total whitewash in all 3 formats.
