WWE star and a former WWE NXT Champion Sami Zayn who is the current and three times WWE Intercontinental Champion recently expressed his desire to play the similar heel gimmick to professional wrestling Legend “The Hitman” Bret Hart which he played in 1997.
There is no doubt in the fact that Bret Hart is one of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling. But he has mostly been famous in the world of wrestling as a babyface. Even though he played a heel gimmick in 1997 when he was involved in a feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Sami Zayn Is Looking Forward To Play A Similar Heel Gimmick To Bret Hart From 1997
When the feud started Bret Hart was a face, and Austin was a heel. But during their match at WrestleMania 13, everything changed. Somehow Austin turned face, and Hart became a heel. He played an anti American persona, something that was quite common back in the day.
Sami Zayn playing a similar gimmick would not be a bad thing at all. In fact, it would be quite fun. Since Sami is from Canada as well just like Bret Hart, it can be made more identical to the gimmick of Hart which came into reality twenty five years ago. If this actually happens this will be quite entertaining.

Sami has been a hill for quite a long time and he is playing his role excellently. Even though he remained a constant mid card, his fan following is increasing day by day. He could not achieve many championships in the main roster. He mostly focused on non title storylines.
Currently he is involved in an Intercontinental championship feud along with him Shinsuke Nakamura. He can definitely win the Intercontinental championship for the third time through this feud. Maybe this would be the perfect time to get the anti American persona in him. He is already won the best heels in WWE, this can officially cement him as the best right now.

Sami Zayn who is a former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion recently spoke to Sportsnet article where he expressed his desire to play the similar heel gimmick to professional wrestling Legend “The Hitman” Bret Hart which he played in 1997. He said;
“I would love to do a more modernized version, a bit more of an intellectual approach, a bit more of a factual approach to what Bret did in 1997 because I thought it was revolutionary. It’s never been done before and it’s never been done since. Global hero, despised in one country like that. It was revolutionary, we all remember it, we all rave about it to this day.”
