Professional wrestling legend and two times WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair who is a sixteen times World Champion as recognised by WWE recently commented on the status of WWE and he said that he believed it is still the big show in the world of professional wrestling.
The origin of the promotion dates back to 1953. But it did not become the biggest show in professional wrestling in one day. There had been a lot of ups and downs, they had to go through a lot of competitions. But ultimately they passed all their tasks to become the best of them all.

Ric Flair Thinks WWE Is Still The Big Show Of Professional Wrestling
There was a time when NWA and AWA where the biggest promotions of professional wrestling along with the Jim Crockett’s promotion which later became WCW. WWE World not as big as compared to the promotions that in that time. Slowly these promotions faded away in front of WWE.
The competition between WWE and WCW is the best rivalry in the world of professional wrestling. During the 90s there was nothing bigger than the Monday Night Wars. WWE and WCW collided against each other for the supremacy.
But ultimately WCW failed to compete with WWE, and Vince McMahon ended up buying WCW. After the death of WCW, a new promotion named TNA Wrestling tried to compete with WWE but they failed. The promotion is still in existence but they are nothing compared to the biggest promotions in the world of professional wrestling.

Finally, a new promotion arrived in 2019 which looks to be giving a legend competition to WWE for the first time since the 90s. This promotion is the All Elite Wrestling aka AEW. WWE is also looking to be threatened by this new promotion. They are still down in weekly viewership comparing to WWE but it is growing and it looks like the WWE is going to get some serious competition this time.
Ric Flair who is a sixteen times World Champion as recognised by WWE recently spoke on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast where he commented on the status of WWE and he said that he believed it is still the big show in the world of professional wrestling. He said;
“It is still the big show. Here’s the difference, I was the NWA Champion and you couldn’t have told me differently but really, the big show was WWE. Anything I’m saying, the kids in AEW can’t turn around on me because I’m using myself as an example. You could’ve never told me as NWA Champion that the big show was WWE, but what was the big show?

“I didn’t want to go there because I was the champion and I was in a prestigious position. If I had not been a champion, I may have gone there early too. I certainly could’ve gone there a couple times but I was loyal to Crockett, I was the World Champion and what more could you ask for?
“I think the biggest mistake in the history of the business, I don’t know what happened in the negotiation, but why in the hell would you ever change the NWA to WCW? What the hell. I know there’s some politics behind that statement, I’m not sure what they were but I’m dead sure with all of Ted Turner’s money they could’ve made it right.”
