This week’s RAW started as the music of Stone Cold Steve Austin hit and the crowd went totally crazy. But it was actually Kevin Owens in the disguise of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Owens started to act like Austin as well. Fans hated it.

Owens attempted to deliver a promo just like Austin, and it was quite good. It was not much of a mimicry, but the similarities were really fun to watch. The music of Austin hit once again during the promo but it was also just a tease and nothing else.

At the end, Owens asked for beers. As the guy outside threw beer at him, he fails to catch it. Owens brought the guy himself and hit a Stunner on him. This has to be one of the segments of this decade. The whole segment reminded of a segment from 2005 during the rivalry between Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan. It was a hilarious segment to open the show.

Backstage Seth Rollins was interviewed where he was asked about the state of mind as he was not going to Wrestlemania. The fans started cheering the name of Cody. Seth did not answer and and took the microphone away.

Match 1 – The Mysterios defeated The Dirty Dogs

This match was booked for around 6 minutes and it was not a bad match. During the match Seth Rollins came out to talk about his WrestleMania spot, but his mic was cut and he could not talk. About the match, it was Dominik Mysterio who pinned Robert Roode with a Frog Splash for the win. After the match, Miz attacked Rey Mysterio and took his mask away.

Match 2 – Omos defeated Apollo crews and Commander Azeez in a 2 on 1 handicap match

It was another squash for Omos who completely thrashed the duo. Before the match the duo tried to take advantage by beating him at the outside of the ring. But it did not work out pretty well. Omos pinned both wrestlers at the same time.

AJ Styles came out to the arena. He addressed Edge and reminded how he attempted to end his career. He was talking about redemption at WrestleMania before he was interrupted by Seth Rollins. Seth demanded his place at Wrestlemania. Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville came out and made a match between the duo for later tonight, where is Seth wins he would replace AJ Styles at Wrestlemania.

Backstage the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions Zelina Vega and Carmella had an argument and fought each other. The segment clearly showed the actual situation of the Women’s Tag Team division of WWE.

Match 3 – Natalya and Shayna Baszler defeated Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley

This match was booked for nearly four minutes and it was booked to promote the fatal 4 way Women’s Tag Team Championship match at Wrestlemania. But it was not a good decision to get a winner out of this match. They should have had this match went to double disqualification or no contest because there was no reason to make one team look weak then the other since both are going to Wrestlemania.

WWE Raw Women’s champion Becky Lynch came out to the arena. She cut a short promo on her women’s championship match against Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38. It was a good promo, Becky is improving on or mic skills week after week.

Match 5 – Finn Balor defeated Austin Theory

This match was booked for around 5 minutes and it was not bad either. Pat McAfee was on the commentary table during the match to create a distraction for costing Theory and Finn Balortook the advantage of the situation by pinning him with a Rollup.

Match 6 – RK-Bro defeated The Alpha Academy

This was another time filler short match but it helped promoting the RAW Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania as well. Riddle pinned Chad Gable with the Bro Derek finishing maneuver to earn the victory for his side.

Match 7 – Dana Brooke and Reggie defeated Akira Tozawa and Tamina in a Tornado Tag Team match

It must have been the worst segment of the night. It was completely meaningless and a terrible piece of booking. In spite they should think about booking the 24/7 title a little better.

Match 8 – AJ Styles defeated Seth Rollins by DQ

This was certainly the best match of the night. If it had a normal pinfall finish it could have been a better match. As AJ was preparing for the Phenomenal Forearm, Edge interfered and beat down AJ Styles with a steel chair, which led the match went to disqualification.

After the end, Seth Rollins demanded a WrestleMania moment before next week else threatened there would be no RAW next week. He destroyed the set in anger. Seth stood tall as this week’s RAW went off air.

Overall it was an average show. It mostly did aIt mostly did a fair job to promote Wrestlemania. But the unfortunate thing is there is no build up for the WWE United States championship match like the intercontinental championship on SmackDown. There is only one show remain before WrestleMania and they don’t give a damn about their mid card championships. Other feuds were not built up very good either. We give it 1.5 stars out of 5.
