Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg who is a former three times WWE World Champion recently talked about his famous finishing maneuver the Spear and commented on others stars using it. He also recalled working with the Big Show Paul Wight in WCW.

The Spear was not used as a finishing maneuver at first. It was more of a shoulder block tackle used by various wrestlers. The first wrestler to use it as a finisher and revolutionizing it was none other than Goldberg himself. He used it as an early finisher closing the segment by his next finish and features the Jackhammer.

Goldberg Gives His Opinion On Others Using The Spear

Except for Goldberg, a similar move was used by ECW Legend Rhyno. His version of the move was commonly known as the Gore. The move was nothing but a spear, just a little bit more impactful. The move was later used by other wrestlers as well.

One of those other wrestlers was WWE Hall of Famer Edge. It was his sole finisher and it was quite impactful as well. The move is currently being used by the current WWE Universal Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns. But the Spear used by Goldberg will always remain special and it can be said that his version of the Spear most impactful.

Goldberg who is a former three times WWE World Champion recently spoke to Dr. Beau Hightower’s Youtube channel where he talked about his famous finishing maneuver the Spear and commented on others stars using it. He also recalled working with the Big Show Paul Wight in WCW. He said;

“About 15 to 20 superstars at WWE use it, and I used to hate it, but now I like it. I like it because you see them do it, and then you see the master do it. And there’s a huge difference. And if I like you, I’ll let you live through it. If I don’t like you, I’ll put my head right in the middle of your chest and you’ll be in the hospital.

“So that was the allure of my character. And it was also like throwing Romans to the lions. You had to sit at the edge of your seat because you had no idea what was gonna happen. And you knew it was gonna happen quickly, but you had to focus and you had to be attentive of what was going on because you’d miss it.”

“Paul Wight, the Big Show, and I used to travel around the country doing main event house shows. I’d beat him before the bell rang, and people were on their feet. All they wanted to see was me pick up a 525-pound guy.”
