WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship match between the champions The Usos and the new challengers Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs for WrestleMania 38 did not get a long process of booking. This match was not much expected either. As if it came out of nowhere.

Most of the fans were expecting a match between the Usos and the New Day at WrestleMania 38. In that situation, Nakamura and Boogs are a quite awkward team but it is definitely good to see a new match up at a stage like WrestleMania, and we did watch something new.

But honestly this was quite a weird match up. Nakamura had been the Intercontinental Champion four months and it was quite awkward that he always focused on Tag Team feuds rather than Championship feuds. Even after dropping the title he did not go after any rematch, which is also quite weird.

But WWE has produced some of the greatest Tag Team matches in the history of the promotion mostly in the different stages of WrestleMania. So definitely there high expectations from this match. All of these wrestlers are capable of producing great matches.

So this was the opening match of night 1. Maybe this was not the best match to start the night with. All the wrestlers did good in this match. Rick Boogs had been presented as a power house once again, just like every time.  But during the process, he hurt his knee which at first did not look kayfabe, and maybe it was not kayfabe since he could not return to action after picking up the injuries.

Since it is WrestleMania 38, there would have near falls for sure. And there were, Nakamura kicked out of the Usos Splash first. But he could not survive the 1D finishing maneuver. The match was only booked for 7 minutes and it was a disappointing way to stat the night.
