Matt Hardy Looks Back At the Decision To End The Streak
But the streak actually ended and it shocked the entire world. In 2014, the Undertaker faced Brock Lesnar for the first time at WrestleMania and literary nobody in the world expected such an outcome. When Brock Lesnar pinned The Undertaker, the entire world was in utter disbelief.
But the plan to beat the streak of the Undertaker was on paper for quite a long time. A lot of wrestlers had been previously picked to beat the streak but all of them declined to do it since everyone was scared to carry the tag. But it was Brock Lesnar who finally agreed to end the streak.

Previously wrestlers like Randy Orton and Mark Henry was proposed beat the streak. But both of them declined to do it. They faced Undertaker at WrestleMania 21 and WrestleMania 22 respectively and both of them lost. Imagine one of them could have been the one to beat the streak of the Undertaker.
Carrying The Legacy was more difficult than accepting the decision to beat the streak. The way WWE booked Brock Lesnar after he defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX was fantastic. He had been one of the most dominant wrestlers of WWE since. He is still one of the biggest face of the promotion. He was the perfect choice to beat the streak.
Matt Hardy who is also an 11 times Tag Team champion in WWE and a former WWE United States champion recently spoke on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy where he looked back at the decision of Brock Lesnar beating the WrestleMania streak of the Undertaker. He said;

“You know, I mean looking back and considering what Brock has done since then, it does not bother me. I mean you could have had the streak go on forever but at the end of the day if he just retires with the streak then like nobody gets anything out of it.
“At least Brock had something very substantial out of it and then Brock, love him or hate him, he has ended up being a huge player and the draw for the full-timers who come in and makes appearances and runs and he is great at what he does. Brock is amazing at what he does so I do not mind Brock ending the streak at all.”
