Team India will host reigning T20 world champions Australia for a short three-match series in September this year. The series will take place just few days before the much-anticipated T20 World Cup gets underway in Australia. The series between the two favourites for the upcoming tournament will serve as a preparation for the showpiece event. Both the teams will be looking to hit the top gears when they lock horns in the series.
According to a report in foxsports.com.au, Australia are scheduled to play a number of white ball series with home games against Zimbabwe, New Zealand, West Indies, and England coming to either side of three T20s in India in September. Australia will also visit India next year for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The four-match Test series will take place in February and March. Australia have not played a Test series in India since 2017.

India’s upcoming assignments:

As far as India are concerned, they will be in action soon after the IPL gets over this month. The Men in Blue will start their preparation for the T20 World Cup with a five-match T20 series against South Africa at home from June 9 to 19. It will be followed by a tour of Ireland for two T20Is. India will then visit England for the rescheduled fifth and final Test. The Test was postponed last year due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Indian camp. After the Test, India and England will lock horns for three T20s and as many ODIs.
