Professional wrestling legend and two times WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair who is a former 16 times World Champion as recognised by WWE recently looked back at his match against Randy Savage from WrestleMania VIII. He compared this match with Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat that took place at WrestleMania III.
Ric Flair came to WWE for the first time in 1991. When he came to WWE he was already a big star and during his short run in WWE, he had been treated as a main event star as well. Flair was one of the biggest stars in the world of professional wrestling back in the time.

Ric Flair Looks Back At His Match Against Randy Savage
He won the Royal Rumble match of 1992 which was scheduled for the WWE Championship and he was planned to defend the Championship Against The Immortal Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VIII. It was supposed to be a dream match back in that time. Fans had been waiting to see this match for quite a long time.
But for some internal reasons the match could not be booked. Instead they booked a match between Flair and Randy Savage where Flair defended is WWE Championship. Flair dropped the title to Savage in that event. The match is still remembered to this date.

In September, Flair faced Savage once again for the championship and Flair defeated him to win his second WWE Championship. But by this time Flair was nearly done with WWE so he dropped the Championship to “The Hitman” Bret Hart in the October. Flair did not return to WWE after that till 2002.
Ric Flair who is a former 16 times World Champion as recognised by WWE recently spoke to “To Be The Man podcast” where he looked back at his match against Randy Savage from WrestleMania VIII. He compared this match with Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat that took place at WrestleMania III. He said;

“I never watched it until a year ago. I thought their match was great. But you know, you have to remember, which takes nothing away from the match whatsoever, but when you take George ‘The Animal’ Steele and you take Miss Elizabeth, there’s a lot going on. There’s a lot of activity that created a lot of excitement to the match as well.
“So it takes nothing away from the two of them, but there was a lot of outside activity, which brought I thought a lot of drama. I didn’t watch the show that much back then, but I understood what was going on. It’s a little bit different from the kind of matches I had with him.”
“Well, I think their matches were much better. I’m sure they had other matches that were better than me and Randy. I could never adapt to that laying it out. I mean, we had decent matches, but nothing like Ricky and Randy had together.”
