Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi who is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and a former three times WWE Tag Team Champion recently talked about late great professional wrestling Legend Randy Savage and said that he was like a brother to him. He also said that Savage was really nice to the Samoans.
Rikishi started is professional wrestling career back in 1985 and started working for various professional wrestling promotion. In 1992 he started working in WWE where the he was renamed as Fatu. He was a member of the famous WWE Tag Team the Headshrinkers. He also won the WWE Tag Team Championship one time while being a member of this team.

Rikishi Claims Randy Savage Was Like A Brother To Him
In 1995 the team was disbanded and he started working solo under the same gimmick. In late 1996 he was re packaged as the Sultan. Since his English was weak, he was given a storyline that his was cut. The gimmick did not receive very well and it was discontinued from 1998.
He was once again re packaged and this time as Rikishi. This gimmick became a really famous among the fans. WWE tried to push him as a main event star from the very first day he adopted the new gimmick. He was given a run for the Intercontinental championship as well.

But from 2001 WWE dropped the idea of pushing him as a main event star and he mostly worked as a tag team wrestler along with Scotty 2 Hotty. He won the Tag Team Championship multiple Times during this phase of his career. In 2015 he had been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He still makes sporadic appearances for WWE.
Rikishi who is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and a former three times WWE Tag Team Champion recently spoke to Bally Sports where he talked about late great professional wrestling Legend Randy Savage and said that he was like a brother to him. He also said that Savage was really nice to the Samoans. He said;

“He was a brother. Randy was ALWAYS cool with the Samoans. He was good friends with my uncle Afa and Sika back in the day and when we came into the picture we got that same love and respect that he showed my uncles.
“He showed it to me and my cousin Sammy [Fatu] and we were honored to to be underneath that locker room to learn some advice and so forth from Macho Man; he was charismatic… he was one of the most – I mean, during this time and back in the day one of the MOST remembered icon in the industry. And so we would just sponge up underneath that. He was just a good dude. He loved us, he loved our entire family and vice-versa.”
