The WWE is a truly global company and one that has millions of fans from all around the world. The company has managed to capitalize on this interest in the past as they have been able to hold a number of shows all over the globe to packed-out crowds.
Now, while most of the biggest events all typically take place within the United States of America, there are a number of tour dates to have been scheduled for the 2022 summer schedule, with Canada being one of the locations to be visited in the coming months.
In this article, we will take a look at what some of those dates are, and why they could be a potentially huge deal for some of those associated with the WWE.

WWE comes to Canada
Canada has a strong affinity with the WWE, with a number of iconic events and individual moments to have come out of the Maple Leaf Country in the past, as well as some rather iconic WWE wrestlers.
Some will immediately think of “The Rated R Superstar” Edge as being one of the top products, while the entire Hart family, Chris Jericho, Roddy Piper, and Trish Stratus are just some of the other famous professionals from the region.
Of course, some will also think of the “Montreal Screwjob” that saw an unscripted incident take place in 1997 at the Survivor Series PPV event which saw Shawn Michaels win the then-WWF Championship from Bret Hart after the latter had a real-life incident with Vince McMahon. Indeed, it has gone down as one of the most iconic moments and one that is still remembered by many today.
With these factors to have existed, it is no surprise that Canada is always a popular destination for many and why the tour is always highly anticipated. However, where will we be seeing these events take place? Let’s take a look:
- Friday, August 19: SmackDown – Centre Bell Arena in Montreal, QC
- Saturday, August 20: Saturday Night’s Main Event – Leon’s Centre in Kingston, ON
- Saturday, August 20: Saturday Night’s Main Event – Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, ON
- Sunday, August 21: Sunday Stunner – Budweiser Gardens in London, ON
- Sunday, August 21: Sunday Stunner – Videotron Centre in Quebec City, QC
- Monday, August 22: RAW – Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ON
As can be seen, it seems the WWE could be about to have a hectic schedule while touring Canada, with a number of events having been set to take place north of the American border.

WWE’s Canadian Tour begins in Montreal
With the first date having been set for August 19, fans will be able to first catch their favorite Superstars at the Centre Bell Arena in Montreal, Quebec.
Indeed, this event will be one that is highly anticipated as it will be just a few weeks removed from “The Biggest Party of the Summer”, as SummerSlam is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 30, 2022; subsequently becoming the first SummerSlam not to take place in August.
Naturally, there will be a lot of interest in the show in Montreal following the conclusion of this PPV, especially as there will be many in Canada that may be looking ahead to the following PPV “WWE Clash at The Castle” which will come from Wales, United Kingdom, given that they now have the opportunity to wager on the matches that take place.
Canadian Betting Sites have started to boom in recent years as punters are now able to place bets on what they feel will happen, with the WWE events being a great way for many fans to try and predict what might happen in the future major televised programs.
Of course, it should be noted that there will be some distance between the two SummerSlam and WWE Clash at The Castle PPV events once the SmackDown event takes place at the Centre Bell Arena in Montreal, however storylines may start to build, or other incidents may take place.

What can we expect to see happen at Centre Bell Arena?
With it being the first WWE event to be held at the Centre Bell Arena for the first time in three years, you can pretty much guarantee that the WWE will look to try and provide the very best show possible.
There have already been rumors regarding what could potentially be offered, although we already know that there will be certain changes being made to the card that has already been set. For instance, Sasha Banks and Naomi have both been billed but were recently suspended indefinitely by the company after deciding to walk out regarding an issue with creative and Vince McMahon regarding their WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions that were won at WrestleMania 38.
However, hometown Superstar Sami Zayn could make an appearance and potentially receive a huge pop from the crowd, especially as some will have felt he has been misused by the company in recent years and has not been used to his full creative potential; an issue the WWE has suffered with for years regarding many talents.
Perhaps we will also see other Canadians appear, whether that be Natalya, Edge, or special appearances from legends to have hailed from the Maple Leaf Country.
Plenty of excitement to be had!
Naturally, there will be plenty of excitement between now and August 19 when WWE SmackDown does finally make its way to Montreal, especially as there is still so much that can happen between now and then.
Fans have had to wait three long years to be able to see their favorite Superstars perform at this particular venue, and it is up to the WWE to ensure that the wait has been worth it by providing the best show they possibly can.
What that entails remains to be seen at the moment, but there is no doubt that once it happens and competitors are in the ring, the Centre Bell Arena in Montreal will be a place that is rocking!
