Rohit Sharma has leapt in defence of his underperforming teammate Virat Kohli after the latter failed with the bat once again during the third T20I. Kohli managed just 11 off 6 balls as India lost the game by 17 runs while chasing 215.
Rohit was asked about Kohli’s form and the criticism he is facing from the experts. In reply, the India skipper came down hard on experts and stated that Kohli would be backed by the team-management.
“I don’t know who are the experts who comment on player’s spot. We back player seeing their quality, if someone has been great for a decade we can’t just see what has happened over last few years,” he said.
Speaking on his former skipper’s form with the bat, Rohit said: “Form is something which goes up and down, but the quality of the player remains the same. We should keep this mind before making comments on other players, we know the importance of each player.”
