Robert Lewandowski’s dream to seal a Barcelona transfer could turn to nightmare after Bayern Munich have taken an firm stance.
The German giants were reluctant in letting Lewandowski go as he still has one year left on his current deal. Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn too had reiterated time and time again that the striker will have to see his contract out.
However, Lewandowski left no stone unturned in convincing Bayern to let him leave. The Poland international even stated it publicly that his chapter with Bayern is over and that he wishes to chase a new challenge at FC Barcelona.

Finally Bayern have green light Lewandowski’s exit, but to the player’s disappointment the German side are considering offers only from PSG and Chelsea.
Barca’s poor finances could hamper their Robert Lewandowski deal
As soon as Robert Lewandowski announced his decision to leave, Chelsea and PSG circled around him. Though he made it clear that Barca is his only preferred destination, Chelsea and PSG have been monitoring the situation.
Bayern Munich are now contemplating to sell Lewandowski to either Chelsea or PSG than Barcelona. The Bundesliga side value their 33-year-old striker at €55-€60 million which Barcelona are not willing to pay.
The Catalans are going through a rough period with their finances and are trying to keep their spending as low as possible at the moment. Moreover, Barcelona had a pre-agreement with Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi who assured them of a €40 million move.
Bayern however rejected Barca’s €40 million bid despite the Spanish giants agreeing personal terms with Lewandowski on the three-year contract.

The Bavarians as a result feel Barcelona cannot match their evaluation and would rather entertain bids from Chelsea and PSG.
Bayern are in dire need of cash as they want to facilitate the incoming of Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus. They are therefore unwilling to lower Lewandowski’s asking price of €55 million.
Both Chelsea and PSG are searching for a striker this summer and have conveyed their ‘yes’ to meet Bayern’s demands for Lewandowski. Zahavi however has made it clear that his client won’t anticipate a transfer to any other side than Barcelona.
On the other hand, Barcelona have completed the signing of Raphinha from Leeds for €58 million and extended Ousmane Dembele till 2024. They will now focus on acquiring Robert Lewandowski next from Bayern.
