Georgio Chiellini has moved to MLS side Los Angeles FC as a free agent after 17 years at Juventus. The defender has now entered the long ensued debate of Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chiellini has been enjoying his time at LAFC, but is yet to make his debut in the MLS. Furthermore, he will now play alongside former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale at the American side.
The Italian has often faced both Ronaldo and Messi, while also being teammates with the Portuguese. Chiellini came up against Ronaldo with Juventus 7 times, conceding 10 goals and 2 assists which also includes the famous bicycle kick in 2018.

While Messi too clashed with Chiellini for 7 times, the Argentine scored 3 and assisted 2. However, Chiellini’s pick for the best among his former teammate and Messi is no surprise.
Georgio Chiellini quick to choose Ronaldo over Messi
The new LAFC defender was recently talking with ESPN FC, where he was asked for quickfire answers in a session named ‘You Have to Answer’.
As soon as the question popped up, “Messi or Ronaldo?” Chiellini’s lightening answer was “Ronaldo”.
There is no revelation as such in Georgio Chiellini’s answer who shared the Juventus dressing room with Ronaldo for 3 years between 2018-2021.
Ronaldo scored a staggering 101 goals in just 134 appearances for Juventus, making him the fastest player too breach the 100-goal mark for the club.
Both Chiellini and Ronaldo enjoyed enormous success at Juventus, lifting two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana.

However, the Portuguese left Italy last summer to make a dramatic comeback to Manchester United. Ronaldo hasn’t slowed down yet, netting 24 goals in 38 games for United.
But the 37-year-old could again be on them move after handing a transfer request to United. Juventus are touted to be one of the horses in the race to sign Ronaldo who wants Champions League football.
Meanwhile, Messi is gearing up for his second season at PSG after joining them as a free agent last summer. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner finished with 11 goals and 15 assists in his first season with the Parisians.
