This week’s SmackDown started as Michael Cole was seen standing inside the ring. He welcomed Pat McAfee who recently extended his WWE contract. McAfee talked about his upcoming match with Happy Corbin and what he would do to him at SummerSlam. Corbin also appeared on the big screen. It was a cool promo. After the promo, McAfee introduced the new SmackDown Women’s champion Liv Morgan.

WWE SmackDown 15.07.2022 Results & Ratings

This match was booked for 6 and half minutes and it was a good match. Nobody in particular dominated the match. Natalya had her offences but they were not enough to earn her a victory. At the end of the match, Liv pinned Natalya with the Oblivion.

Next up, The New Day came out to the arena in the disguise of The Viking Raiders. They cut a funny promo before they got interrupted by the original Viking Raiders. As they were about to attack New Day, Jinder Mahal and Shanky. Jindar, Shanky and New Day took out the Vikings. This might be the first time Jinder is turning babyface.

Aliyah and Lacey Evans were supposed to have a match but just like last week, Lacey expressed her frustration for not getting enough recognitions from the fans. She got a short promo expressing her frustration, and left the ring without having the match.

Match 2 – Drew McIntyre defeated Ridge Holland

There were some confusion about this match. Originally Sheamus was scheduled to face McIntyre. But when Ridge was inside the ring along with McIntyre, Butch rang the bell, so Ridge had to face Drew. Never heard of such a rule. Drew dominated the match and he kept on mocking Sheamus throughout the match by copying him. At the end he pinned Ridge with the Claymore.

Match 3 – Madcap Moss defeated Theory by DQ

This match was booked for around 9 minutes and it was one of the better matches of the night. Nobody in particular dominated the match and both performers were really good throughout the contest. At the end of the match, Theory attacked Madcap with the Money in the Bank Briefcase.

After the match, Theory claimed to win the Universal Championship by cashing in his contract. Sami Zayn appeared and threatened him not to discuss such things. He was then scared off by the Usos and got beaten down by Madcap.

Match 4 – Angelo Dawkins defeated Jimmy Uso

This was the short match and was never been a good and worthy main event. The finishing of the match was the little dramatic. The referee was down and he missed offences from both sides. At the end, Dawkins pinned Jimmy with the Sit Out Spine Buster.

After the match, Adam Pearce revealed that the special guest referee of the match would be Jeff Jarrett. They showed a video promo on Jarrett. Street Profits and Usos started fighting each other after the announcement and the referees had to come out to stop them.

We saw a very weak piece of commentary during this fight sequence. The two tag teams kept on fighting each other as the commentators were busy talking about Jeff Jarrett. They did not talk about the fight that was going on in front of their eyes at all, which was weak  piece of commentary. The two tag teams kept on fighting as this week’s SmackDown went of air.

Overall it was a very weak show of Smackdown. Once again there was no World Championship segment, neither very strong Intercontinental championship segment. Matches were not very good either. They wasted too much time on pre recorded promos. We give it 1 star out of 5.
