Cristiano Ronaldo could be once again on the move this summer after joining Manchester United last summer.

The Portuguese hasn’t travelled with the team for preseason also after conveying his decision to United last month. Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is holding talks with a host clubs to broker a deal for his client.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG were all offered the chance to snap up the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. However, none of them have reciprocated the interest of landing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, rumours from Portugal suggested that Ronaldo’s boyhood club Sporting Lisbon are fancying their chances of signing him. But Ronaldo was quick to dismiss those reports as false.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s car ‘spotted in Sporting Lisbon car park’

The rumours of Ronaldo to Sporting caught fire when according to Sporting TV Portugal, the superstar’s car was seen parked in the car park of Jose Alvalade, Sporting’s home stadium.

The Portuguese outlet while posting the car’s photo on Instagram claimed, “A photo circulates on social media that they say is of the Portuguese’s car in the garage of Jose Alvalade.”

As soon as the news broke out, speculations of Ronaldo’s dramatic comeback to the club where it all started became rife. Even the structure of a deal was being discussed with a potential loan move labelled as most likely.

However, Cristiano didn’t let the excitement live for too long as he commented “Fake” on the post. His response put an end to the story as he looks to leave United with the hope of winning a sixth Champions League title.

United’s failure to qualify for the elite European club competition has forced Cristiano Ronaldo to ask for an exit.

While negotiations were going on with Bayern and Chelsea, both abstained from further talks after their respective managers reportedly decided against the move.

On the other hand, Sporting director Hugo Viana too gave a realistic response after he was asked earlier about signing Ronaldo. Viana said, “I think not now – I don’t think it is possible, but you never know.

“He can decide where he goes, but you never know the future. I don’t want to talk about that, but he has another year on his contract so whatever he decides, let’s see.”

While a move to Sporting is not happening, Ronaldo is still to find a new suitor with less than 20 days remaining for the new season to kick-off.
