Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo’s close friend Edu Aguirre now has had his say on the striker’s next move. Ronaldo has requested to leave Manchester United and is still finding a new suitor.

While talks were ongoing with Chelsea, Edu’s social activity may have a hint that Ronaldo is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

However, earlier reports suggested that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has decided against the signing of Ronaldo and that the Blues won’t make an official bid.

But Edu who happens to have the inside news of his friend Ronaldo’s moves, claims that a move to Chelsea is still on the cards for the Portugal captain.

Edu believes Chelsea move for Cristiano Ronaldo

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly had himself met Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a move for the striker. While United were first reluctant in letting Ronaldo go, they eventually set a price tag of £14 million on the Portuguese.

On the other hand, Boehly’s meeting with Tuchel changed the course of the transfer. Tuchel made it clear that the forward’s signing could hamper his system at Chelsea.

But Edu has dropped a hint linking his friend to Chelsea. According to Mundo Deportivo, the El Chiringuito host has started following Chelsea’s official Instagram account.

While this may be the slightest of the hints, Edu Aguirre’s authenticity on news related to Cristiano Ronaldo shouldn’t be doubted.

Edu was the one who leaked the news of Ronaldo wanting to leave Real Madrid back in 2018. The forward did leave Los Blancos that year and joined Juventus.

Ronaldo, however who won four Champions League titles at Real wants to avoid playing in the second tier Europa League with United.

The Red Devils despite Ronaldo’s 18 goals in the Premier League last season failed to qualify for the Champions League. The 37-year-old as a result had garnered interest from Bayern Munich and PSG as well.

Chelsea however seem the frontrunners to land the mercurial forward in the coming weeks.
