Chelsea’s American talent Christian Pulisic has talked about his favourite teammate at the club since joining them permanently in the summer of 2019 from Borussia Dortmund. The winger has named midfielder N’Golo Kante as a ‘good teammate’ of his who make him ‘smile everyday’.
Kante has been praised by almost all of his teammates at both Chelsea and France as a humble and down-to-earth personality. Pulisic has further showered love on his teammate who he feels does everything for everybody.
Christian Pulisic picks Kante as favourite teammate
While talking to Complex’s GOAT Talk, alongside his another teammate Ben Chilwell Christian Pulisic was asked about his favorite teammate at Chelsea. The winger quickly replied, “[N’Golo] Kante. He makes you smile every day you come in, he covers you, he runs for you, he’ll do anything for you. He’s a good teammate.”

Pulisic and Kante have been teammates for over three years now at Stamford Bridge. The two have helped the club win Champions League as well as the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup together. Pulisic and Kante will be now gearing up for the new season which begins with their trip to Everton for the Premier League opener.
Speaking of his new ambitions going into a new season, Christian Pulisic added, “As far as right now, I’m obviously just focused on what I’m doing here. And I’m super excited to be here. And yeah, that’s it. Of course, I want to get more playing time. I want to be on the field as much as I can and be the sharpest I can be and fit as well.”
Pulisic further talked about his game time at the club, and training harder so as to make the starting line-up more frequently. “And I think I still got a lot of games, but it’s always something that I’m working at and trying to be regular at club level as well to put myself in the best position to be fit when I come here with the national team,” said the American.

The winger managed only 18 starts last season across all competitions, which could further get a trim after the Blues landed Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling. Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley feels Pulisic needs to beef-up his physicality in order to start regularly for the Premier League side.
While speaking at ESPN Burley said, “Pulisic’s issue, for me, is clear. It’s not a talent issue. This is a fitness issue for him. Before he starts thinking or anyone else starts thinking where he’s going to go or what he’s going to do, he has to solve this. The more injuries you pick up, the more off-putting that is to potential suitors.”
Pulisic has had a promising preseason with Chelsea and will now be hopeful for garnering more minutes at the club next season.
