Crystal Palace have shown interest in taking back their former player Aaron Wan-Bissaka back from Manchester United. The Red Devils have put the full-back on market in as they eye a mass clear out in order to raise funds for more signings. The England international was signed by United back in 2019 for a whopping fee of £50 million.
However, Wan-Bissaka has failed to live up to his heavy price tag and United have now decided to get rid of him. According to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, Palace are reportedly ready to help United with Wan-Bissaka’s departure. Patrick Vieira’s side are exploring the possibility of bringing back Wan-Bissaka to Selhurst Park, on loan.

Manchester United “open minded” on Wan-Bissaka’s future
A product of Crystal Palace’s youth setup, Aaron Wan-Bissaka established himself as one of the robust full-backs of the Premier League across his 46 senior appearances for the club. After a decent start to his Manchester United career which saw him rack up 46 games in debut season at Old Trafford, Wan-Bissaka has apparently fallen behind in the pecking order to fellow right-back Diogo Dalot.
Wan-Bissaka’s failure to emulate his Palace form at United, and Dalot’s bursting on to the scene saw a decline in the game time of the former. Further on, new manager Erik ten Hag is planning a squad overhaul of United and has demanded a number of signings.
The club is hence trying to raise funds and clear wages for new signings through sales of fringe players. The club has already released high profile players in Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata after their contracts expired. Furthermore, Andreas Pareira has been sold to Fulham and Alex Telles, Dean Henderson have been loaned out.

Next outgoing could be of Wan-Bissaka as Dharmesh Sheth revealed, “Crystal Palace one of a number of clubs interested in Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan. United thought to be ‘open minded’ – happy if he’s still a United player come the end of the window but also mindful of what would be best for AWB.”
While Crystal Palace already have Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne in the ranks for right-back’s position, manager Patrick Vieira wants young blood since both of his available options are in their 30s. The 24-year-old Aaron Wan-Bissaka fits Vieira’s criteria and is hence wanted.
However, United won’t mind in keeping the right-back if a suitable offer is not tabled for him as per Sheth. Meanwhile, United will now focus on their Premier League opener against Brighton as they will be hoping to carry their brilliant form from preseason.
