This week’s RAW started as the Judgement Day came out to the arena. At first they talked about The Mysterios and how they have punished them so far. Then they talked about Edge who was not here tonight. Damian Priest claimed that he would decimate Edge next week.

They were not done talking as Rey Mysterio appeared and attacked them. They started beating down the Judgement Day. He even beat down the duo with a steel chair. But at the end, Rhea Ripley interfered the fight whom Rey Mysterio refused to fight as Damian Priest and Finn Balor took the advantage of the situation by beating him down.

WWE RAW 15.08.2022 Results & Ratings

Match 1 – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament 1st Round – Alexa Bliss and Asuka defeated Doudrop and Nikki ASH

This match was booked for nearly six minutes and it was not a bad match. It was not just the right outcome. The babyface side should not have won here. Team Bayley should have cost them the opportunity which could have been a better storyline. Besides we are going to see Team Bayley vs these two women and Bianca Belair at Clash of the Castle, so there was absolutely no need to have these two women as the winner of this match.

Backstage Theory was being interviewed on RAW where he was confronted by Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler reminded how he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract over a decade ago and became the World Heavyweight champion. Ultimately, the duo broke into a fight backstage as officials had to come out to stop them.

Match 2 – The Miz and Ciampa defeated Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander

Good to see Cedric Alexander back on the main event after quite a while. But unfortunately he is still a jobber. This match was booked to promote Ciampa and Miz as a team, and promote Ciampa too who pinned Mustafa Ali with a Fairy Tale Ending.

Drew McIntyre came out to the arena. He talked about his upcoming match against Roman Reigns that is scheduled at Clash of the Castle. He claimed that he would snatch the title away from Roman Reigns and talk about all the potential opponents he would face after that.

Kevin Owens came out to the arena. He reminded everyone that he did not win any Championship in around five years. He said that he could go after every Championship and his primary goal is to win the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. At Drew McIntyre challenged Owens in a match which Owens accepted.

Match 3 – Drew McIntyre defeated Kevin Owens by DQ

This could have been a match of the Year candidate if it met a clean result. It was on process of being one of the best matches ever on Monday Night RAW. But after eleven and a half minutes, The Usos interfeared and ruined the match.

Seth Rollins came out to the arena. He discussed the situation of Riddle and how he punished him throughout. Riddle appeared on the big screen and gave update on his medical status that he is ready to compete. He came down to the ring and attacked Seth. Seth fought back for a while but Riddle dominated the fight this time as it went through the crowd as well.

Match 4 – Veer Mahaan defeated Beaux Keller

It was a two minute squash. Good to see Veer Mahaan on television after such a long time. We hope WWE will not give up on his push yet. Veer made the local competitor submit with the Cervical Clutch.

Match 5 – WWE United States Championship – Bobby Lashley defeated AJ Styles to retain

This was a definitely the best match of the night. What an amazing match it was! This 15 minutes long match has produced a lot. Every week WWE is producing at least one great match. At the end of the match, Bobby Lashley pinned AJ Styles with the Spear.

Match 6 – Dakota Kai defeated Dana Brooke

It was a non title match where there was nothing much to see except Dakota’s dominance. Quite clearly there is no place for the WWE 24/7 Championship in the new WWE. Dakota Kai pinned Dana Brooke with a running boot to the face.

Match 7 – Theory defeated Dolph Ziggler

This match was booked for around 13 minutes and it was a good main event. But one thing we do not understand why this match was on the main event? It is clear that without a proper main event segment, booking a main event of a weekly show is quite difficult.

They could have had Drew McIntyre vs. Kevin Owens as the main event. But this one was a pretty weak choice for the main event. Theory pinned Ziggler with the A Town Down and it was somewhat of a clean victory. Theory celebrated as this week’s RAW went of air.

Overall it was an average show of Monday Night RAW. Matches were good, but the storylines and segments were weak. Weak main event segment was a huge downfall. Without a proper World Championship segment, shows can never improve. Roman Reigns is slowly turning out to be a terrible World Champion. He is not appearing in most of the weekly shows. You have merged the World championships and you cannot have your champion appear in any show, that is just ridiculous. We give this week’s RAW 1.5 stars out of 5 and that is all because of the matches.
