This week’s SmackDown started as footage from Clash at the Castle was shown where Roman Reigns defended his WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre and at the end Drew had Roman beaten, as he was about to pin Roman after the Claymore, the debuting Solo Sikoa took out the referee and saved Roman.
Match 1 – The Imperium defeated The Brawling Room

WWE Smackdown 09.09.2022 Results & Ratings
This week’s first pay per view standard match was the very first match of the night. It was book for nearly 13 minutes and it was more of a brawl. It was a very entertaining match from top to bottom. This match was also the debut Giovanni Vinci who pinned Ridge Holland to earn the victory for his side.
The Usos and Sami Zayn came out to the arena. They talked about Roman Reigns’ victory over Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle. After that they introduced the newest member of the Bloodline, Solo Sikoa. Sikoa entered the ring and cut a short promo. Drew McIntyre interfered and attempted to attack Sikoa with a Steel Chair but Sami took the hit on himself as the Bloodline escaped. Roman’s absence in such an important night was absolutely insane.
Match 2 – WWE Women’s Tag Team champions Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez defeated the Toxic Attraction
The match was booked for 5 minutes and it was an average match. It was really not the treatment that the Toxic Attraction deserves on the main roster. They had me the dominant Tag Team on the NXT, now there be entered as just some jobbers. They should never make Toxic Attraction jobbers. Rodriguez pinned Jacy Jayne for the win.

Match 3 – Fatal 5 Way elimination match to determine the no 1 Contender’s for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship – Ronda Rousey defeated Sonya Deville, Lacey Evans, Xia Li and Natalya
It might have been an elimination match but it was an easy victory for Ronda Rousey. The fun part is all the eliminations occurred via submission. WWE’s treatment with Lacey was not very satisfying but Sonya surviving till the end was good. The order of eliminations are given below;
Natalya by Ronda Rousey
Xia Li by Sonya Deville
Lacey Evans by Ronda Rousey
Sonya Deville by Ronda Rousey
Match 4 – The Street Profits and the Hit Row defeated The Maximum Male Models and Los Lotharios
The only good thing about this match is we saw an eight man tag team match after a very long time in WWE. It was not the best match of the night, and not a bad match either. Ashante Adonis pinned Mansoor to earn the victory for his side. We seriously hope this is the end of this feud.
Next up Braun Strowman made his return to SmackDown and completely destroyed the Alpha Academy. WWE has to come up with something new. Alpha Academy is turning out to be the bell of the temple which get rung by everyone.

Match 5 – Drew McIntyre defeated Solo Sikoa by DQ
This match was fun to watch but it was definitely not a classic wrestling match. Usos and Sami Zayn kept on assisting Sikoa from outside but Drew kept on surviving. At the end, Karrion Kross attacked Drew and locked him into the Neck Lock which led the match go to DQ. Karrion Kross kept had Drew McIntyre locked in the Neck Lock as this week’s SmackDown went off air.
Over all it was it disappointing week of Smackdown. The only good part was the first match between Imperium and Brawling Brutes. No presence of Roman Reigns was the worst thing about this week’s SmackDown. He did not even bother to come out to introduce Solo Sikoa to the Bloodline, that is just sick.
Braun Strowman’s return to SmackDown was also a piece of lazy booking. There is nothing special about the final match either. Having Toxic Attraction job was not the best idea anyway. We give it 1 star out of 5 and it is only because of the six man tag team match.
