The summer this time around is set to be one of the most exciting in recent times with a number of top class clubs fighting for the limited amount of talent available in the transfer market.
The lower placed Premier League clubs as always will lose a star player or two and it is understood that Merseyside outfit Everton will find it hard to keep hold of their prized possession.
Romelu Lukaku, who has been a sensation in England since his debut season at Stamford Bridge has now grown on to become one of the hottest prospects in Europe.
The 23-year old has been in extraordinary form last season scoring more than 20 goals for the club but has always spoken about his desire to play in the Champions League with the best.
But with Everton nowhere close to providing European football, the 23-year old has been linked with a move to big clubs like PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
However, the agent of the Belgian international, Mino Raiola has now made a public statement that might please an Everton supporter or two.
Raiola in a recent interview with La Dernere Heure, revealed that the asking price for Lukaku would be around €80 million mark leaving just a handful of clubs with the potential of buying him out this summer.
The agent gave a straightforward answer when asked about the teams that are potential suitors for the Belgian.
“Only the top teams in the world,” he said.
“The top Premier League teams, Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG,” he added.
He also went on to explain that Everton who are now with a Billionaire Farhad Moshiri as a stakeholder at the club will do all it takes to keep the striker at the club for another year.
To add to it, Ronald Koeman, the new manager at Everton also stated that he wants to keep hold of the 23-year old leaving little chance of a move for the striker.
Raiola felt that the change in ownership sees the Merseyside outfit at a better place that they were before and felt that they have every chance to keep hold of the player this summer.
Things have changed since Everton have new owners and a new project,” Raiola said.
“The club is no longer obliged to sell; they don’t need money. So Romelu will only leave if all three parties find an agreement,” he added.
However, with Lukaku desperate for Champions League football, it will be interesting to see what the Goodison Park outfit can do to keep hold of him if a club like Real Madrid or PSG come knocking and are ready to meet his price.
Do you think Lukaku should move away from Everton this summer?
