This week’s SmackDown started as the former WWE SmackDown Women’s champion Liv Morgan entered the arena for the first match of the night. The new Persona of Morgan continued in this match and definitely WWE is booking something special for the former champion. Sonya Deville Morgan next.

WWE Smackdown 04.11.2022 Results & Ratings

The match was booked for 11 minutes and it was a very good match. It was one of the best openers of this year so far. Both performers had been really on top of their games. There were even ‘this is awesome’ chants. It was pretty hardcore, there were weapons everywhere. At the end, Liv delivered an Oblivion finisher through steel chair and sat on Sonya Deville’s stomach to pin her.

Match 2 – LA Knight defeated Ricochet

This match was booked for 7 minutes and it was also an entertaining match. Ricochet dominated the most part of the match but LA Knight stole a cheeky role up victory with the support of the ropes. It looks like the feud between this two will continue for a month or so.

Bray Wyatt was shown backstage where he was trying to cut a promo and he was interrupted by a backstage personnel. Bray got mad at the guy and shouted at him. At a point it seemed like Bray would attack him, but that did not happen. The feud between Bray and his inner self continued.

WWE Undisputed Tag Team champions The Usos came out to the arena. They talked about their upcoming match with the Brawling Brutes at Crown Jewel. They also said that they are on their way to become the longest reigning Tag Team Championship WWE history. When did this match get booked?

The New Day interrupted them and reminded them that they are still that longest raining Tag Team champions and as soon as they are done dealing with the Brutes, New Day would be waiting for them with a challenge. Brawling Brutes attacked Usos from behind. Brutes and New Day teamed up to beat down Usos. Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn came out to save Usos. The Bloodline beat down New Day and Brutes.

Match 3 – Shayna Baszler defeated Natalya

There are a lot of things to talk about this segment. Firstly we get to see Ronda Rousey accompanying Shayna Baszler to the ring. They are officially a team now. Just imagine these two women as the WWE women’s Tag Team champions. That would be just amazing.

About the match it was only booked for 4 minutes and watching this match would make you feel that you are watching the old Shayna Baszler, the one that was destroying everyone. It looks like Triple H is a trying to bring that Shayna back. It would be amazing to see her back and teaming up with Ronda.

It was a submission victory for Shayna as she locked her into the Kirifuda Clutch. After the match, as Shayna was about to leave, Ronda advised her to punish Natalya more. She then lowered her kneepad and hit Natalya directly on to the face with the knee. It broke Natalya’s nose and she started bleeding. This could rightfully be one of the best story lines in the recent time.

MVP came out to the arena and he had a challenge for Braun Strowman. He brought out five jobbers who would challenge Braun in a 5 on 1 handicap match. Braun entered the arena and took out all five men. He then went after MVP who tried to escape but could not. Braun beat MVP down really badly.

Match 4 – WWE Intercontinental Championship – Gunther defeated Rey Mysterio to retain

This was definitely the best match of the night. It was booked for 13 minutes and it was a pay per view standard match. There were back to back near falls which made the match even more exciting. There were even “this is awesome” chants. Gunther pinned Rey with Clothesline on mid air. Gunther celebrated with the championship as this week’s SmackDown went off air.

Overall it was a good week of Smackdown but there was nothing to see as a go home show for Crown Jewel. There were two excellent matches, segments were good too. But there was nothing to promote Crown Jewel at all. No segment for the World Championship at all. This is going to be a main event that nobody would be interested to see. If the champion is a part timer, the challenger is even a bigger part timer. We give this week’s Smackdown 2 out of 5 and that is all because of the two excellent matches.
