Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher feels in-demand midfielder Jude Bellingham will choose the Reds over other potential suitors, as he braces for a move away from Borussia Dortmund next summer. Bellingham has become talk of the town ever since delivering barnstorming performances for the German club consistently at the highest level. And after two absolutely stunning years at Dortmund, where he earned his reputation as one of the best in the business, Bellingham is heavily tipped to make a big leap next summer.
It won’t be completely wrong to say that Jude Bellingham is currently the most sought after player at the moment. All of Europe’s elite clubs, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, PSG and Liverpool have already lined up at the door of the midfielder, trying to convince him to join them. However, Carragher feels its his former team Liverpool who will take the wonderkid home.

Bellingham a Liverpool fan and will join the Reds claims Carragher
Jude Bellingham’s rise to fame has been a massive one since the youngster has earned it with brilliant on field displays. Since his move to Dortmund back in 2020, the England international has made a whopping 111 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and providing 20 assists. Furthermore, at 19-years-old his maturity has already allowed him to captain his club for a handful of games. This season as well, Bellingham has continued his exploits having netted 9 goals and provided 2 assists across 21 games.
He was one of the players who were imminently going to be named in the England World Cup squad, and as the Three Lions announced their final roster, Bellingham leads the list. He has already become a key part of England national team, forming a formidable midfield partnership with West Ham’s Declan Rice. No surprise Europe’s top clubs are waiting outside the Signal Iduna Park to acquire Bellingham’s services, with Carragher now claiming Liverpool will win the race to land him.
The pro-turned-pundit supported his claims by explaining how the midfielder being a ‘Liverpool fan’ will work in favour of the Reds. Speaking on The Eleven, on being asked about Bellingham’s potential destination, Carragher said:

“Liverpool, hopefully. I know he’s a Liverpool fan. I think he’s a player who Real Madrid will want, every top club in England will want. Him and [Declan] Rice are England’s midfield for the next six years. I don’t think anyone’s looking at them and thinking they’re going to take those positions. And they’ll probably both be fighting over who’s the future captain after Harry Kane. Jude Bellingham reminds me of Steven Gerrard at that age where you think he could score a goal at any time, create something at any time. He could light up [the 2022 FIFA World Cup].”
While it remains to be seen which club Bellingham picks as his next destination, Liverpool are certainly the ones who need him direly. The Reds are massively short on options in the midfield, with injuries and ageing problems casting a shadow over their style of play. While Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Thiago Alcantara are well beyond their 30s, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and on-loan midfielder Arthur Melo have been constantly troubled by long term injuries.
Brazil international Fabinho is Jurgen Klopp’s only solid option in the middle of the park, but he too as experienced a dip in his form. The Reds cannot rely on the likes of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot to sustain their midfield for a long time, and hence need a player of Bellingham’s stature to dictate the department for them. Though he will cost them a fee of triple figures, it would be a no brainer for Liverpool to go all out and swoop in the Dortmund midfielder.
