This week’s SmackDown started as Damage CTRL, Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley was the seen standing inside the ring. It was a good way to start the night by promoting their women’s WarGames match. On this week’s RAW, it did not get enough highlight.
Bayley was the one to talk over mic. She did not go into any details and called out Bianca Belair and her team straight. Bianca Belair and her team came out and stood on the stage. They introduced their 5th member of the team who was nanadar than the returning star Becky Lynch.

Becky came out to the arena and entered the ring in her own style. She did not waste any time and attacked her opponent team. The two teams broke into a fight. But it did not continue for long. They teased a fight between Becky and Rhea. A future showdown between this duo would be really cool to see.
Match 1 – Smackdown World Cup Semi Final – Santos Escober defeated Butch
This match was booked for nearly 7 minutes and it was the fun match. Even on this match there were promotion for the men’s WarGames match. Butch was accompanied by his teammates, who had to leave since a fight between their side and the Bloodline broke out backstage. Legado Del Fantasma took the advantage of the situation as they attacked Butch which the referee it failed to notice. Escober pinned Butch with the Phantom Driver.
Bray Wyatt came out to the arena. He took his usual 5 minute long entrance. The main point of this segment was, Bray denied the accusation of attacking LA Knight last week on Friday Night Smackdown. LA Knight was seen backstage who looked really hurt. He called Bray Wyatt a liar and kept on accusing him.
Match 2 – The Viking Raiders defeated The Hit Row
This match was booked for only two and a half minutes and it was an easy win for the Viking Raiders. Sarah Logan has now been renamed as Valhalla. Eric pinned Ashante Adonis after a double team move called Ragnarok.
The clip that got viral where Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley attacked Rey Mysterio in his house on Thanksgiving was shown. As mentioned, the clip has gone really viral on social media. The funny part is, Rey Mysterio was wearing his mask even in his house. It was quite funny.
Match 3 – SmackDown World Cup semi final – Ricochet defeated Braun Strowman
It might be a shocking result but it was well booked. The match was only four minutes long and it was being completely dominated by Braun. Meanwhile WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther and Imperium interfered and started distracting Braun. Ricochet took the advantage of the situation by pinning him with the crucifix pin.
After the match, Imperium attacked Braun and started beating him down. Ricochet came out to help Braun but the number’s game was heavy on him. Braun finally fought back and Imperium escaped. Gunther made sure that the difficult target was out of the tournament. It was a good booking.
Backstage Sami Zayn was seen going to the Bloodline locker room. Kevin Owens stopped him and tried to make him understand what would happen to him if he ever pi**es Roman Reigns off. Roman did not even spare his own blood, so what would happen to him? Owens said if he was him, he would have struck first.
Jey Uso heard everything from the other side of the door. He was sneaking behind the door so neither of them could see him. After Owens left, Jey asked why he was late. Sami said he was running late. Jey then asked him if he talked to anyone after arriving. Sami said that he did not talk to anyone.
Match 4 – Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi
At a point It looked like the match would not happen as babyface duo where attached backstage by Ronda and Shayna. But Shotzi answered the challenge alone as Raquel’s arm was seriously hurt. Shotzi showed great passion to accept to fight this deadly duo alone.
At first the fight started as a 2 on 1 handicap match, but Raquel Rodriguez joined the fight later even though she was not in her 100%. She became an easy target for her opponents as both Ronda and Shayna attacked her injured arm. It also brought an easy victory to Ronda as she locked it in the Cross Armbar and Raquel had no other option but to tap.
Match 5 – WarGames Advantage Match – Drew McIntyre and Sheamus defeated The Usos
This match was booked for over 10 minutes and it was a good match. It was a good go home show build up for the war games match. There were outside Chaos throughout the match, and at the end, it got serious when Sami unintentionally distracted the referee and Owens hit a Stunner on Jey Uso which the referee failed to notice. Sheamus quickly pinned Jey with the Brogue Kick. The babyface side celebrated as this week’s SmackDown went off air.
Overall it was a good go home show with some flaws of course. The matches were good, segments were not bad either. But there were so many pre taped footages to waste time. No progress in the Bray Wyatt – LA Knight feud either. The biggest flaw of the night was, no presence of Roman Reigns. He is involved in such a huge match and he is not event appearing on the go home show before the ppv. He needs to drop at least one world title now. We give this week’s Smackdown 1.5 out of 5.
