This week’s SmackDown started as The Brawling Brutes came out to the arena for the first match of the night. The Usos along with the Bloodline came out next. They are scheduled to defend their Tag Team championships against Sheamus and Butch. It was Drew McIntyre who was scheduled to team up with Sheamus but he was injured so got replaced by Butch.
Match 1 – WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship – The Usos defeated The Brawling Brutes

The Usos became the first WWE Tag Team champions in 20 years to defend the Tag Team titles in two different shows in one calendar week. They continued their over 500 days run with another victory. The match was booked for nearly 15 minutes and it was an excellent match. Needless to say it was a pay per view standard match.
There were outside interfereences but it could not change the outcome of the match. The result of the match came clean as Jimmy Uso pinned Butch after the 1D team move. Kudos to the Usos for presenting two pay per view standard matches in only one week time. Finally the Tag Team titles are being defended, even though it was totally predictable.
LA Knight came out to the arena and addressed Bray Wyatt. He talked about the attacks on him for the past couple of weeks and showed them on the big screen. He accused Bray Wyatt for all the attacks. He showed a masked face in the dark during the attacks and claimed it to be Bray Wyatt. Uncle Howdy appeared on the big screen after that and showed some random footages. Knight said that he would search out Bray and he left.
A footage from earlier tonight from the parking lot was shown where Shotzi got attacked by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler and they injured her arm. Later Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox confronted Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler and teased a potential feud for the future.
Match 2 – Legado Del Fantasma vs. The Viking Raiders went to a Double Disqualification
The match did not go on for very long. The Hit Row made and interference and they started beating down both the teams. The fight even went among the women of each stable where B-Fab beat down both Zelina Vega and Valhalla. This three way Tag Team feud is getting better.
Backstage LA Knight was searching for Bray Wyatt. When he entered his locker room, he saw a Bray Wyatt signature T Shirt hanging inside it. Suddenly the lights went off, and Uncle Howdy was standing in front of him with his mobile flashlight on. Seriously? Uncle Howdy with an IPhone?
Next up is the official contract signing for the WWE Intercontinental Championship match next week between the champion Gunther and the Smackdown World Cup winner Ricochet. The New Day was present to stand for Ricochet against Imperium. After the contract signing, Adam Pearce announced a six man tag team match.
Match 3 – The New Day and Ricochet defeated Imperium
This was a good build for the Intercontinental Championship match that is scheduled for next week. The match was booked for around 13 minutes and it was very good and entertaining match. No team in particular dominated the match. Ricochet pinned Ludwig Kaiser with a Shooting Star Press to earn the victory for his side. It was a very good build for Ricochet before his IC title match next week.
Match 4 – Tegan Nox and Liv Morgan defeated Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey
This was a short four minute long match and it was a good debut for Tegan NOX. The match was mostly been dominated by the heel side but Raquel Rodriguez created a distraction for them as Tegan Nox who was not legal hit Shayna with a Shining Wizard which the referee failed to notice and Liv Morgan pinned her quickly. Nox was holding her leg as if she hurt her leg while hitting the Shining Wizard. Injuries have been a big problem throughout her career, we seriously hope she has not injured herself again.
Next up was the birthday celebration of WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. Before he could say anything, The Alpha Academy interrupted him and expressed her anger for not getting invited in Angle’s birthday celebration.
Gable Steveson brought a Dairy Truck and Angle be created the famous beer bath segment of Stone Cold Steve Austin with milk on The Alpha Academy. It was a fun moment of course. They replaced beer with milk keeping eye on his Hall of Fame speech. Kurt Angle and Gable Steveson celebrated together as this week SmackDown went off air.
Overall it was an average week of Smackdown where there were two really good matches. The Tag Team Championship match was really very good, the six man tag team match was also pretty good but the rest had nothing special to offer. The milk bath segment was fun but in all such segments, the Alpha Academy is common to take the bump which is not a very good thing. We give this week’s Smackdown 1.5 out of 5.
