WWE NXT star and a former WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Roxanne Perez who is also a former ROH Women’s World Champion recently talked about her friendship with her fellow NXT star Cora Jade and also explained how she felt after winning the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with her.
Roxanne Perez is a very talented wrestler who started her professional wrestling career at a very young age of 16. She started working on the Reality of Wrestling professional wrestling promotion which is owned by two times WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. She was also trained by the former five times WCW World Heavyweight champion.
Roxanne Perez Discusses Her Friendship With Cora Jade
She had been quite impressive from the very first day of joining the world of professional wrestling. After working on the Reality of Wrestling promotion for a number of years, she started working for Ring Of Honor in 2021. She worked in the ROH for 1 year and she also became the inaugural ROH Women’s World champion.
In 2022, she got her big call from WWE and she started on the development territory of WWE which is the NXT. Upon making her debut she teamed up with her fellow NXT star Cora Jade and they went on to win the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. Later, the duo started feuding each other after Cora Jade turned heel. Perez definitely has a great future lying ahead of herself.
Roxanne Perez who is also a former ROH Women’s World Champion recently spoke to El Brunch de WWE where she talked about her friendship with her fellow NXT star Cora Jade and also explained how she felt after winning the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship with her. She said;
“I feel like I keep saying it’s just so cool to me but it really is because when I was younger, I wanted to be a WWE superstar but I also wanted to be a WWE Champion. That was always my goal. At the time, I wanted to be Divas Champion one day and now, there’s so many more opportunities besides just the Divas Champion because that’s all there was.
“Now we have the Women’s Tag Team Titles, the 24/7 Championship, we have the Raw Title, the SmackDown Title so there’s so many more things to accomplish now for women in WWE and I think that that’s so amazing so, just to, in that moment, hold those [NXT Women’s Tag] titles with, at the time, my best friend, not anymore.
“But at the time, that was a very cool moment because me and Cora, we used to talk about when we were both on the independent scene, we hadn’t made it to WWE yet and we would message each other and say, ‘Oh, one day, we’re gonna be on WWE together and one day, we’re gonna be tag team champions together’ and to share that moment with her and be in the ring with her and just look at each other and say, ‘We did it. We manifested this.’ It was really cool.”
