Professional wrestling legend and two times WWE Hall of Famer Booker T who is also a former five times WCW World Heavyweight champion and a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion recently explained why he thought The Rock did not need to win the Royal Rumble match in order to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE World title at WrestleMania 39.

A dream match between the Rock and Roman Reigns had been rumoured for over two years. At first it was rumoured for WrestleMania 38. But WWE had different plans for the event. Now it is rumoured once again for WrestleMania 39. This time the rumours are really strong. It looks like the dream match is finally taking place at the Grandest Stage of them all.

Booker T Does Not Think The Rock Needs To Win Royal Rumble

Rumours also suggest that The Rock would be participating in the men’s Royal Rumble match at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay per view event and would win the whole thing to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. However, there are different rumours as well about the possible outcome of this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match.

There is another rumour that the former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes will return at Royal Rumble pay per view event to win the men’s Royal Rumble match and challenge Roman Reigns for the title.

Most of the old school WWE fans is looking forward to this result since they are waiting to see someone dethroning Roman Reigns, which can never be the Rock. Roman vs. Rock would definitely be a dream match, but the outcome would be nothing special.

There is another big rumour floating all over the world of professional wrestling that Roman Reigns will be defending both of his World titles on to different nights of WrestleMania 39. On the first night he would be defending the WWE Universal title against The Rock and on the next night he would Defend the WWE championship against Cody Rhodes. Among the two titles, he will retain one and drop the other one. This sounds the perfect booking idea, we seriously hope this idea stands.

Booker T who is also a former five times WCW World Heavyweight champion recently spoke on his Hall of Fame podcast where he explained why he thought The Rock did not need to win the Royal Rumble match in order to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE World title at WrestleMania 39. He said;

“It’s real simple. I got the biggest star in Hollywood, if not, top five; if he wants to win the Royal Rumble and go to WrestleMania, damn it, he’s winning. That’s the way I would write it. If he’s got time off, he knows what the money is, you know, we’re going to pay him, and he can fit it in, that’s what the story would be.

“I don’t think that’s the way The Rock finds his way into that match with Roman. For me, I would not have Rock in the Rumble at all. It’s just not a place for him to be at.”
