It is time for Manchester United fans to rejoice as one of the best strikers in the world at the moment, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will wear the club’s crest on his jersey next season.
Having finished his contract with PSG at the end of the last season, the Swede, who recently retired from national duty was on the radar of the club ever since the end of the last campaign.
And with hardly any time left for the transfer window to be open, the club have now officially announced that the 34-year will move to Old Trafford this summer.
He will be welcomed along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and Eric Bailly from Villarreal who was the first signature of Jose Mourinho in the city of Manchester.
He is said to have signed a £220,000 a week contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the next season.
He announced on Instagram: “Time to let the world know. My next destination is @manchesterunited #iamcoming.”
Having scored for fun in League 1, Zlatan will surely take the time to adjust to the conditions of the Premier League but he will be a perfect fit for Manchester United’s style of play.
It will be interesting to see how the duo of Mourinho and Zlatan work together after their stint at Inter Milan not too long ago.
This is the marquee signing that can lift the Red Devils to their previous best and the fans of the club took it to Twitter to show their happiness. Here are some of the best tweets:
