India skipper Rohit Sharma brought up his ninth Test hundred against Australia on Day 2 of the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit Sharma’s terrific knock put the home team in a strong position against the visitors. Rohit Sharma scored his last hundred in England way back in 2021. This knock is special as Rohit became the first Indian captain to score a ton in all three formats of the game.

With that, he joined the elite company of  Babar Azam, Faf du Plessis, and Tillakaratne Dilshan to become the fourth batter to score centuries across formats as a captain. Virat Kohli, who was the all-formats skipper before Rohit, had scored multiple Test and ODI hundreds but did not collect one in the shortest format until last year’s Asia Cup, by which time he had given up captaincy across formats.

Rohit’s played magnificently well that he is the only batter who played with great composure and temperament and his knock has stood as the difference between the two sides.

He Had Sown The Seeds Of Fear In Cummins – Ajay Jadeja On Rohit Sharma’s Master Class

Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja asserted that Rohit Sharma has put the seeds of fear in Pat Cummins’ head with his batting in the First Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy. The India captain took on his Australian counterpart on day one and took him out of the game.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Jadeja claimed:

“Absolutely. He had sown the seeds of fear in Cummins yesterday and now he has come to take the fruits. He almost took Cummins out of the game yesterday. And today, with that six, he showed dominance,”

“Rohit Sharma is always a cool customer. He just goes on his path like an elephant that doesn’t look here and there despite the noise around it. The pitch is up and down, and we saw Virat Kohli react to the pitch’s nature. We don’t see that from Rohit at all. What we saw today from him was just brilliant.” Jadeja added

Rohit Sharma Played exceptionally well to put India in a commanding position in the 1st innings of the First test.
