The Indian Test squad under the newly appointed  coach Anil Kumble is preparing hard for the four-match West Indies tour at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

The legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble is keeping a close eye on players. Amit Mishra and Shikhar Dhawan are two of the India’s players trying to prove themselves in every stage of the game.

Shikhar Dhawan has scored 173 and 134 respectively  in one-off Test in Bangladesh and in the first Test of India’s Sri Lanka at Galle. But Since then Dhawan has thrown his wicket after settling down. So he will be under the scanner. Even one bad innings may cost his slot as inform KL Rahul is hungry to cement his position in the Indian team.

Dhawan has made his debut in 2013 when he scored 187 against visiting Australia at Mohali.

Dhawan has come to face the media today after today’s practice session in the afternoon.

He was asked how team India are preparing for the West Indies Test series, he said, “West Indies have slow wickets and we are practicing according to those conditions.”

Meanwhile, Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra, who proved himself a useful spinner in the South Africa at home, is selected for the West Indies tour .  In 5 Test matches, Mishra has taken 22 wickets. He has made a return to the team after 2011 after playing two matches of India’s England tour. In 2011 Mishra was also a part of the Indian team he has taken two wickets in one match.

At NCA  he is preparing hard to make a mark in the West Indies where the slow and low pitches will support the leg-spinner who get vicious turn.

Mishra too at the end of Saturday’s practice session talked to the present media. One of the media persons  asked him how their coach Kumble is helping, Mishra said, “Anil Kumble is not working on bowling technique, just working on planning; we have his full support.”
