Star Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga is set to miss the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League as Sri Lankan Cricket Board has not granted him NOC to participate in the tournament. The Sri Lankan Cricket board wants him to play first-class cricket as he would return to the Sri Lanka team that will tour New Zealand for the two-match test series.

Gladiators have confirmed Hasranga’s unavailability and are looking for options to replace Hasaranga for the remainder of the season. on the other hand, Sri Lanka is in with a chance of making the WTC final if they beat New Zealand 2-0 in Test matches. Hasaranga is likely to return to the test squad.

Hasaranga played an important role with both bat and ball for Desert Vipers in the ILT20 league taking them to the final before losing out to Gulf Giants. Hasaranga has been one of the most sought players in T20 leagues around the world and it will huge miss for Gladiators.

Before Hasaranga, Sri Lanka Cricket had also refused NOC to Kusal Mendis who was drafted by Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars had then opted for Shai Hope as a replacement for Kusal. Bhanuka Rajapaksa was permitted to participate in PSL 8 and he is currently in Pakistan playing for Peshawar Zalmi.

Hasaranga Will Play For RCB In Bangalore For First Time In IPL 2023

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been around for a very long time. Every year, the IPL has been played between 8 teams, with the addition of two new teams in 2022. Matches in the 2023 IPL will therefore be played between ten teams, with the addition of the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Joints.

Wanindu Hasaranga will be extremely important for RCB in IPL 2023. Yuzendra Chahal has been the primary spinner for RCB over the years and he was replaced by Hasaranga in IPL 2022. The Sri Lankan Spinner had an exceptional season in 2022 picking up the most wickets for RCB.
