Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh heavily criticized Australia’s performance in the ongoing four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy. The series was one of the most exciting series in red-ball history. Many experts believed that Australia have a chance to win this edition of BGT, but surprisingly Australia was hammered by India within 3 days, with this win India retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

They were a lot of talks around India preparing the pitch that will aid the spinners and many former Australian cricketers criticized the Indian team for not giving the visitors a fair chance, but more than the pitch it was the Australian batter’s poor show that led them to this situation. Harbhajan Singh speaking to sports Tak said

“Australia practiced against Ravichandran Ashwin’s duplicate, but I feel the Australian team itself is a duplicate one. Their mindset is such that they are only focusing on negative things. They created so much confusion that they lost the game even before the first ball was bowled. It doesn’t seem like they have done any preparation for this tour. Looking at their performance, I think the only thing they practiced was getting out

Harbhajan further slammed Australia’s negative mindset coming into the series has backfired for the visitors and it seems like Australia’s preparation for the series was very poor and also stressed that India will take the series 4-0 and also added that even though the series is 10 match, India would win it 10-0, it was more of the mentality of batters coming into the batting

“I do not doubt that India will win 4-0. Even if it was a 10-match series, India would beat Australia 10-0 because this Australian team doesn’t have any firepower. If there is something on the pitch, they throw their wickets from the dressing room itself,” Harbhajan further added

Harbhajan Singh Backs KL Rahul To Do Well

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has also weighed in with his views on KL Rahul as an under-pressure batsman. The legendary spinner took to Twitter to defend Rahul and backed the opener to do well. He also urged the Indian cricket fraternity to leave Rahul alone. Many former cricketers including Venkatesh Prasad have been very critical of KL Rahul’s place in the team.

India will take on Australia in the third match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting on March 1 in Indore. India is likely to bring in Shubman Gill in place of out form KL Rahul.
