Professional wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle who is a former six times World Champion in WWE recently looked back at his match against Baron Corbin from WrestleMania 35 and how he felt about this infamous match. He also talked about announcing his retirement after this match.

Kurt Angle is one of the biggest legends of professional wrestling who joined WWE back in 1998 after having a short tenure in ECW. He was an Olympic gold medalist, the first ever Olympic gold medallist in professional wrestling history to be more precise.

Kurt Angle Recalls His Match From WrestleMania 35

From the very first day of joining WWE he had been treated as a potential main event star. He went on to win multiple championships in WWE, including the biggest price of them all, the WWE World Championship. He went on to win a total of 6 world championships in WWE including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

In 2006 he left WWE to join TNA Wrestling and he became one of the top stars of the promotion ever. In 2017 he returned to WWE but this time mostly as a legend. He made sporadic in ring appearances but he worked mostly to promote new talents. On the same year, he was also inducted into WWE Hall of Fame.

Upon his return to WWE he had an in famous feud with Baron Corbin. The feud was terribly criticized as Angle was treated in a very bad way. His WrestleMania 35 match with the former WWE United States championship was really awful where he was forced to job to him badly. Unfortunately, he announced in ring retirement after that.

Kurt Angle who is a former six times World Champion in WWE recently spoke to The A2theK Wrestling Show where he looked back at his match against Baron Corbin from WrestleMania 35 and how he felt about this infamous match. He also talked about announcing his retirement after this match. He said;

“Vince decided to put Baron Corbin in Jason [Jordan’s] position. I didn’t know I was going to retire at WrestleMania, but I felt like I was losing a step. I wasn’t able to be the Kurt Angle I expected myself to be, so, I decided I was going to retire at that WrestleMania against Baron.

“But, I called Vince, and I said, ‘Listen, no disrespect to Baron. I love the kid, I think he’s talented as heck, but I’d really love to wrestle John Cena’ … Vince said, ‘You know what? No, because you’re doing a program with Baron Corbin. You have to finish this program.”
