Karnataka skipper Mayank Agarwal is all to lead the Rest of India against Madhya Pradesh in the Irani cup at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior starting Wednesday. According to reports, Agarwal is set to captain a team as he captained the Karnataka team very well, he was also the skipper of Punjab Kings in 2022.
Mayank Agarwal was in fantastic form in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy season where he scored 990 runs in 13 innings, with a highest score of 249, and has guided Karnataka home on numerous occasions alone. Abhimanyu Easwaran, the Bengal opening batsman, will likely partner Agarwal at the top.
In the middle order, the Rest of India team has Sudip Kumar Gharami, Baba Indrajith, and Yash Dhull. One of Upendra Yadav or Desai will be behind the stumps. On the bowling front, the selectors have insisted on the likes of Bengal’s Akash Deep, Saurashtra’s Chetan Sakariya, Delhi’s Navdeep Saini, and Bengal’s Mukesh Kumar.
