Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir slammed AB de Villiers’ records in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he is known for personal records and not for winning the championship, the Indian Opener is often known for his blunt opinions on cricket stating that anybody could have scored runs in Chinnaswamy Stadium. Ab de Villiers is regarded as one of the best players in IPL history.
Speaking on Star Sports, the Lucknow Super Giants Mentor Gautam Gambhir called Raina a better player and performer than AB de Villiers. He refused to rate AB de Villiers as one of the best batters of the IPL.
“AB de Villiers only had personal records in the IPL. Anybody could have scored runs in Chinnaswamy stadium, If AB de Villiers plays on a small ground like Chinnaswamy Stadium for 8-10 years, any player might have the same strike rate or ability. So Suresh Raina 4 IPL titles, unfortunately, de Villiers only personal records,” Gambhir said.
AB de Villiers has one of the star performers for Royal Challengers Bangalore and he is celebrated by the fans of Bangalore for his contribution to the team. In 157 matches for the Bangalore-based franchise, the former South Africa batter smashed 4522 runs at a strike rate of 158.33. Mr 360 has notched up two centuries and 37 half-centuries for RCB.

Gautam Gambhir To Lead India Maharajas In Legend League Cricket
Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir will lead India Maharajas in the Legends League. The Asia Lions will be led by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi and World Giants will be led by Aaron Finch. Legends League Cricket is scheduled to be played from March 10, 2023, to March 20, 2023, at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Doha, Qatar.
