Australia star Matthew Kuhnemann has revealed Ravindra Jadeja kept his promise and gave him some valuable bowling tips after the conclusion of the four-match Test series. The series came to an end on Monday (March 13) with a drab draw in Ahmedabad.

India won the series 2-1 to register their fourth straight Test series win over Australia. Matthew Kuhnemann, meanwhile, managed to make a big impression with his bowling in the series. The left-arm spinner was initially not a part of the squad and was called up after Mitchell Swepson returned home for the birth of his first child after the first Test.

In his debut Test, Matthew Kuhnemann managed to pick up 2 wickets as India thrashed Australia by 6 wickets in Delhi to take an unassailable lead in the series. But in the very next game, he starred with the ball, taking 6 wickets including 5 in the first innings to help Australia thrash India by 9 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja’s gesture for Matthew Kuhnemann:

After the series ended, Matthew Kuhnemann had another reason to celebrate as India superstar Ravindra Jadeja kept the promise he made to the spinner during the series. Earlier in the series, Kuhnemann had revealed he had asked Jadeja for some tips only for the India spinner to say that he would do it after the series ended.

And Jadeja upheld his promise. Kuhnemann revealed that his senior teammate Nathan Lyon organised the meet as he and Jadeja talked for about 15 minutes.

“It was probably about 15 minutes, he (Jadeja) was just giving me some awesome tips; we talked about everything,” Kuhnemann told AAP.

“Nathan Lyon helped organise it as well.

“He (Jadeja) was really impressed with Todd, ‘Gaz’ and myself so that was really cool to hear that from him.

“He gave me some good tips for the next time we’re in the subcontinent and some tips to go back home with as well.

“He was really nice and just said any time to reach out, and even sent me a message on Instagram, so that was pretty cool,” he added.
