The agent of Arsenal midfielder Jorginho appears to have left open the possibility of a summer transfer for his client. The Italian only moved to the Emirates in January after the Gunners spent £12 million to nab him from Chelsea in the final hours of the transfer window.
There were considerable concerns with the transfer because the Gunners had lost out on Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion, who was their primary target. Jorginho, though, has enjoyed tremendous success in north London since his arrival. He has made eight appearances in all competitions, giving Mikel Arteta’s midfield a crucial depth.

He can go anywhere – Jorginho’s agent on move away from Arsenal
On the deadline day of the transfer window, the Jorginho left Chelsea to join Premier League rivals Arsenal. He had entered the final six months of his contract at Stamford Bridge. The Italian midfielder signed an initial 18-month contract with the north Londoners, with an one-year extension option. As per his present deal, the 31-year-old may stay with the Gunners through 2025.
Jorginho has already made a difference for Arteta’s team. He hit the crossbar with a shot that bounced off Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and gave his team a 3-2 lead in a match they went on to win 4-2 last month. He has made six starts across all competitions for Arsenal, but hasn’t featured in either of their last three Premier League games. Joao Santo, Jorginho’s agent, would not, however, rule out the Italian making a trade in the summer. Santo said:
“Jorginho can win the Premier League with Arsenal; there are 10 games left which will be 10 finals. It has been years since he has won the championship, so there is great motivation. Football is dynamic, when Arsenal took him, the Italian teams didn’t need a player like Jorginho. With his characteristics and his very intelligent football, he can go anywhere.”

Despite Jorginho’s early success with the Gunners, Thomas Partey has been the first-choice defensive midfielder for the team. The Italian’s position in the team may get more complicated as Arteta appears eager to improve his midfield in the summer. According to reports, Arsenal are willing to break the club’s transfer record in order to land West Ham captain Declan Ric. It is being claimed a whopping £110 million might be spent on the England midfielder by the current league leaders.
Meanwhile, when Roberto Mancini’s team played England in their opening EURO 2024 qualifier, the former Napoli man lined up against his Gunners teammates Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale. Jorginho had to face a 2-1 defeat at home, with goals from Declan Rice and Harry Kane securing all three points for the Three Lions. The reigning EURO champions next face Malta away in their qualifying campaign.
