Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag believes Kuldeep Yadav will be very effective on the slow wickets and urged him to take more responsibility for the team. The 28-year-old is excepted to play a vital role for Delhi Capitals along with Axar Patel in the spinning bowling department.

With Delhi Capitals about to begin their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants, Speaking to Cricbuzz, Virender Sehwag shared his view on their leading spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, stating that he will be a crucial player for Delhi on slow and turning pitches.

“Until all the players become available, Kuldeep Yadav will need to take on extra responsibility. He will enjoy bowling on the Delhi pitch, which sometimes remains low and turning. He will look to build on the confidence that he got from last season, which also helped him make a comeback into the Indian team,” Virender Sehwag said.

Kuldeep Yadav made a comeback in the last edition of the cash-rich league, picking up 21 wickets in 14 games, which eventually helped to reclaim his spot in the Indian team. The left-arm chinaman spinner will once again look to replicate his form in IPL for the Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Capitals will hugely miss their regular skipper Rishabh Pant, especially in the middle order, who can take away the game easily from the opposition in a short period. The 25-year-old made his IPL debut for Delhi in 2016 and has been an integral part of the team since then, he was named DC skipper in the 2021 edition. The left-handed batter has close to 2500 runs in IPL including one hundred.
