Former WWE star and a former WXW Ultimate Heavyweight Champion Gene Snitsky who is also a former LCW Heavyweight Champion recently looked back at his gimmick change in WWE back in 2007 and how he was asked to dirty up his teeth.
Gene Snitsky was first introduced to the WWE Universe back in 2004. He went one on one against professional wrestling Legend Kane in his first match in WWE. At first it looked like that he was going to be just another jobber who is going to be thrashed by Kane.

But WWE had bigger plans for him. He got involved in a storyline with the Big Red Machine and Lita who was the kayfabe wife of Kane during the time. The storyline continued for quite a long time. He was even scheduled for a grand WrestleMania match where he would team up with Heidenreich to take on The Brothers of Destruction.
But the plans changed and somehow Snitsky lost the main event push after losing to Kane in the mentioned feud. In 2007 he went through a gimmick change. He kept the same name but his character was not the same anymore. It looked like that WWE had something big for him in the mind.
He was portrayed as a monster heel but he could never upgrade himself from a lower mid card. In 2008 he was released from WWE never to return to the promotion ever again. He joined the independent circuit upon his release from WWE. In 2018 he announced his retirement from professional wrestling.
Gene Snitsky who is also a former LCW Heavyweight Champion recently spoke to AdFreeShows’ Monday Mailbag with Mike Chioda where he looked back at his gimmick change in WWE back in 2007 and how he was asked to dirty up his teeth. He said;
“I just remember Vince coming to me. [He said] ‘Hey, man. You’re doing such a great job for us. I’m going to move you to ECW and we’re going to have you like, just be this killer heel. But, I want you to go shave all your hair off and go see the makeup lady and do something with your teeth to make them look like, dirty and grimy.’”
“I’ve got all these guys I’m just mowing over and then — I don’t know, three, four, five months later or whatever it was — Stephanie stops me in the hall. ‘Hey, Gene, my dad just loves what you’re doing on ECW. We’re going to draft you back to Raw’ … I don’t understand it then, I don’t understand it now.”
