Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly urged their youngsters to take responsibility and turn up well against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their next match on April 15. David Warner-led side made a disastrous start to the campaign losing their first four games in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.
Delhi Capitals have collectively failed and are lying at the bottom spot with 4 losses from as many games. After the franchise lost its fourth straight match in the ongoing IPL 2023.
“The loss certainly hurts, especially because of the way this team has played since 2019. But these things happen in sports. It’s never easy when you lose. There are so many youngsters on our side and we’ll take time to be a good team,” Sourav Ganguly said.

David Warner has done well with the bat for Delhi Capitals but has scored at a poor strike rate the failures of other batsmen have hurt the team big time as their middle order batters Mitchell Marsh, Prithvi Shaw, Rilee Rossouw, and Rovman Powell are yet to get going.
Delhi Capitals side lost their 4th game against the five-time champions in the last ball, Talking on the positives, Sourav Ganguly hailed Axar Patel for his brilliant knock and also praised Lalit Yadav for his bowling in the slow wickets of Delhi.
“We’ll have to bat much better. Axar was brilliant and that’s why we got a score of above 170. We need others to stand up. Lalit bowled well on the wicket in Delhi. But the most important thing for us is to get together and put runs on the board.”
With Delhi Capitals regular skipper Rishabh Pant ruled out of the cash-rich league due to a fatal car accident. David Warner was handed the responsibility to lead the Delhi team, which didn’t go according to the plan as they have had a poor start in the last few years.

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly urged the youngsters to do well in the forthcoming game against Royal Challengers Bangalore and added it is common to go through such phases in a tournament and urged the players to make a better game plan to do well in the upcoming matches.

“It can only be up from here and hopefully, the young boys will turn up on the high-scoring wicket in Bengaluru. You have to find a way to make a comeback. This has happened to everyone. When you play for some time, you will go through such phases. It’s about going back to your rooms, looking at the mirror, and asking yourself how can I change,” Sourav Ganguly added.
Delhi Capitals will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their 5th league game on Saturday in Chinnaswamy Stadium and they will look to register their 1st win and open their account in the points table.
