Backstage on RAW, Bianca Belair was interviewed by Cathy Kelley where she was asked about her opinion on defending her WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Iyo Sky at Backlash. She said that Iyo was a great athlete but she never backed down from a fight.
She was interrupted by Damage CTRL, Bayley said that she might not have been scared of competing but she would definitely drop the title Iyo. Iyo challenged Bianca in a match tonight and Bayley added that they were ready to have a six women tag team match tonight if Bianca got to find two partners for herself.
WWE RAW 24.04.2023 Results & Ratings Part 2
Backstage Sami Zayn met his old friend Jey Uso once again. He said that they were going to challenge them for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship but why did he say that they would be dedicating their win to Roman Reigns, why could not they fight for themselves.
He also said that since they used Roman’s name, the consequences would not be good if they fail to win the title. Jey said that Sami did not have to think about him or his brother. They could take care of themselves. Good to see this angle is still not dead and Sami – Jey angle keeps on going.
Footage from last week’s RAW was shown where Trish Stratus explained her actions against Becky Lynch two weeks ago. She explained why she at attacked Becky Lynch and she also revealed that it was her who attacked her best friend Lita on the same night. And at the end she claimed to be the best.
Backstage Trish Stratus was interviewed by Cathy Kelley where she asked about the absence of Becky Lynch. Trish said that Becky was failing to bare the pressure of being the face of WWE, being the man and being a mom. Trish said that she had children as well but it was not a big deal for her to manage everything perfectly unlike Becky. So Becky should thanked her for helping her.
Match 2 – The Street Profits defeated Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin
This was only a two minute long filler and clearly this match was booked to keep Street Profits as a legit tag team so that they can win the Tag Team titles after it splits. Montez Ford pinned Cedric Alexander to pick up the victory for her side.
Triple H came out to the arena for a big announcement. He reminded everyone that he was in the same arena at WrestleMania 22 when he defended the WWE championship against John Cena. But that was not true. He did not defend the title against John Cena at WrestleMania 22 but challenged for it.
He then talked about Roman Reigns who was the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion and he was coming up as the champion for 1000 day. He said in his 30 year long career he could not name many who could be as good as him. The praise was not enough appreciated by the home crowd.
Triple H then said that he did something that everybody would have done. He negotiated spot where he did not have to defend this title much frequently. It might have been great for Roman Reigns but not great for WWE. He said that WWE deserved better and the fans deserved better.
