After WrestleMania 39, WWE head of Creative Triple H made a huge announcement that WWE is coming back with the Draft. The King of Kings also promised the fans that this would change the course of WWE forever. But it is still not confirmed how it would change WWE.

This is not the first time WWE is focusing on the brand split. On paper, the brand split is still on but it almost died last year at WrestleMania 38 when WWE merged their two World Championships. There were not enough brand supremacy either as wrestlers freely roamed brand to brand.

WWE Draft – Why WWE Needs To Bring Back Hard Brand Split

WWE introduced their first brand split back in 2002 during the early days of the Ruthless Aggression era. WWE head plans to run WWE and WCW as two separate brands. But the idea of running WCW failed and they started running RAW and Smackdown as two different brands with two separate rosters.

In 2016 WWE introduced the brand split as they decided to end the previous brand split in 2013. This brand split is still going on but as we mentioned it above, after WrestleMania 38, it was dying slowly. There were still to separate pairs of rosters, but wrestlers roamed friend to brand freely.

Why WWE Needs To Bring Back Hard Brand Split

So first we need to understand the concept of the hard brand split before discussing its necessity. In simple words, wrestlers from RAW and Smackdown would not visit other brands apart from their own. RAW and Smackdown wrestlers would not go face to face apart from major ppv events like Royal Rumble and WrestleMania.

Now we must discuss why it is good. Hard brand split means brand specific ppv events which means longer time to build up feuds and storylines. It would help to create more stars with better character developments. This would definitely be good for the wrestlers and for the viewers as well.

After the announcement of the Draft, fans were expecting some changes in WWE. But a lot of fans were also confused with what WWE had in their mind with the Draft. But after the introduction of the new World Heavyweight Championship, it is pretty much cleared that WWE wants to run to separate rosters like the previous days.

The return of the hard brand split also clarifies that there would be more opportunities to build main event stars that WWE really lacked since WrestleMania 38 as Roman Reigns was holding both world titles and he was not defending them regularly either. Finally there is a new world title which would help WWE to build more main event stars.
