England batsmen Micheal Carberry has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor . He was feeling unwell in the past few days. Carberry was dropped from Hampshire squad for the County Championship match against Warwickshire that would be played this week. His coach Dale Baketsain said that Micheal Carberry will be undergoing tests.
Micheal Carberry survived life ending blood clots in his lungs and after which he had to take medication. He was feeling breathless while fielding and batting, was treated in November 2010 and did not play a single match until July 2011. He suffered this attack six ago.
” He is grateful for the messages of the support he has received and hopes that he can continue to focus on his treatment and also thanked the people close to him”.
Rod Bransgrove, the Hampshire chairman, said: “Michael has been part of the Hampshire Cricket family for 10 years and on behalf of everyone at and associated with the club, I would like to send him and his family our very best wishes at this very difficult time. ‘Carbs’ has taken on and beaten serious illness and we will be doing all to make he does the same again this time”.
Micheal Carberry has played 6 test matches, 6 One day Internationals and 1 T20 match for England. He has played 192 first-class matches for Hampshire in the past 15 years.
His contribution to Hampshire cricket has been immense. He batted with confidence and ability to play long innings made him solid batsmen. Carberry did not play much for England national team. He played Ashes test match against Australia in 2014.
