This week’s Smackdown started as The Draft night 1 began. There were so much speculations about this year’s Draft as Triple H previously claimed that this year’s Draft would change the course of WWE forever. They also announced the Tag Team championship match which would be the rematch from WrestleMania 39 night 1.
The Head of Creative of WWE came out to the arena. It was understood that he was the official host for this year’s Draft. He informed that 50% of the roster would be drafted tonight and the rest of the 50% were eligible to be drafted next week on RAW. He organised the whole thing all alone.

He started the draft by announcing that SmackDown got the first draft pick and they chose Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa, and the WWE Undisputed Universal Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns. They are staying on SmackDown. This was a bit shocking. It was reported earlier that USA Network was looking for Roman Reigns on RAW more than a separate World title. And Roman went to Smackdown?
Triple H then informed that with Roman Reigns going to the blue brand, The new World Heavyweight Championship would be exclusive to Monday Night RAW. Then they announced the first draft week for Monday Night RAW, and it was Cody Rhodes. So the American Nightmare is staying on the red brand.
Another shocking pick. We all expected WWE to continue the rivalry between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes on which ever brand they go to. But with these two wrestlers going to two separate directions, it is pretty much clear that this feud will not be continued anymore.
The draft did not stop here as it continued for the third pick of the night. For the third pic and Smackdown’s 2nd pick, it was the WWE Raw Women’s champion Bianca Belair. So the titles will change hands once again. Both of these two Women’s champions would receive one more title reign for free.
As Bianca Belair had been drafted to the blue brand, quite clearly, Rhea Ripley would be drafted to RAW. But the next draft week was not about Rhea, Becky Lynch was the next pick for Monday Night RAW. Becky was still getting priorities over a Women’s champion was definitely a good look for her.
The next round of the draft would be presented after a few minutes as Triple H introduced the Usos who were considered as the best tag teams in WWE history. They got a promo on their Tag Team Championship match later tonight add once again they promise to dedicate this victory to Roman Reigns.
The WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn interrupted them. Sami Zayn said that Roman Reigns did not talk to them since their WrestleMania 39 defeat and how come they were dedicating their victory to someone who did not even care about them.
He also reminded them that Roman Reigns got drafted to SmackDown along with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa, and not with The Usos. That means there was no more Bloodline. Jey said that they would definitely taking their Tag Team titles away and Jimmy said Kevin would definitely betray him after they lose.
Kevin Owens got really angry after this conversation and said that he did not care about anything what the Usos had to say or they thought about this match. The only thing he care about is retaining the title at the end of tonight and they would definitely do it after they beat the Usos.
