Match 5 – The Judgment Day (Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, and Damian Priest) defeated The LWO (Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, and Zelina Vega) in a Mixed Tag Team match
Another short match on this week’s RAW and there is nothing much to talk about here either, apart from one thing of course, the losing streak for LWO continued. Rey almost snatched the first victory for the LWO but when he was about to hit the 619 on Priest, Finn took the hit on himself and Priest quickly hit a South of Heaven Chokeslam to Rey and pinned him.
WWE RAW 01.05.2023 Results & Ratings Part 7
Backstage Cody Rhodes got interviewed by Cathy Kelley where he was after about his upcoming match at Backlash against Brock Lesnar. Cody discussed about the match and explained why it was really important to him to win this match and why he needed to win at Backlash more than Brock Lesnar did.
Backstage WWE RAW Women’s champion Bianca Belair got interviewed by Byron Saxton where she was requested to talk about her upcoming match with Iyo Sky at Backlash. He said that she would definitely retain her title against Iyo and even if she was going to SmackDown she had a lot of love for Monday Night RAW.
The Damage CTRL interrupted her. Bayley told Byron Saxton that she should be interviewing them in stead of Bianca who would definitely drop her title at Backlash and would go to Smackdown empty handed. Bianca said that she had a lot of respect for Iyo and she had a great future in WWE indeed. But Bayley and Dakota Kai were holding her back.
To present the last round of the WWE Draft 2023, Teddy Long and JBL came out to the arena as the hosts. JBL announced that the Alpha Academy would be drafted to Monday Night RAW. This is a questionable decision. They are working on RAW for quite a long time, and we think SmackDown would have been a better brand for them.
Teddy Long announced the next draft pic for Friday Night SmackDown and it was Rick Boogs. He addressed him as “The Meat Mountain.” Well this was a pretty interested nickname for Boogs. We hope he has a great future in Friday Night Smackdown and he would dominate the mid card division (since there is no main event division on SmackDown).
JBL announce the last draft pick for Monday night RAW and it was the NXT Tag Team Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. The NXT Women’s Tag Team champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre had been drafted to Smackdown last night and their current Rivals are on RAW. This is a scary indicator that the women’s Tag Team Champions would work on both brands.
And with the final draft pick for Friday Night Smackdown they selected Cameron Grimes. The mid card division of Smackdown looks pretty strong. Grimes had been really excellent in NXT and we hope he keeps on doing the great work in Friday Night Smackdown as well. Good luck to all these wrestlers.
